Humanity, at last.
We ran from them, they followed.
We thought they'd never find us.
We were wrong.
This…is the way the world ends.
William Adama, Laura Roslin, and the rest of the group, human and Cylon, listened to the voice that came from a recording device they had found.
It was found in a building resembling a pentagon; it featured a hologram woman speaking to anyone who found her.
Adama looked at the woman and asked, "How did the world end?"
She responded, "It was war, they came from nowhere, attacked our colony worlds and laid waste to any they came across. We fought back; we used weapons that were long considered forbidden against laws of humanity. They persisted, and moved on.
For 20 long years we fought, earning victories, and defeats. Eventually, they found our home, Earth. As they laid waste to our home, we sent a last ditch effort, we sent the remainder of our fleet to their home world, and using nukes and chemical weapons, we destroyed the cradle of their civilization, as they destroyed ours."
Everyone looked sad and downtrodden at such words, for after spending 4 long years running from their enemies, in the hopes of finding earth, only to find a wasteland.
"What happened to the humans?" asked D'anna Bears.
The hologram responded, "We had advanced notice of their arrival, so we evacuated our entire population to one of our outposts in a different galaxy."
Hope once again flared in the hearts of the people present.
"What happened to this enemy?" asked Saul Tigh.
Again, the hologram spoke, "by destroying their home world, we destroyed their government, what was left of the civilization split into factions and fought, eventually weakening each other beyond repair. We sent our fleet, having been rebuilt and using more advanced technology, was bigger and stronger than ever. We wiped out their entire species in revenge."
Everyone blanched at the thoughts, especially the cylons.
"How long ago was this and when was your last contact with the humans?" asked number 6.
"The war took place 2000 years ago; I was placed here immediately after the destruction of the enemy 1,985 years ago. My last contact with the humans was 50 years ago when they came to see if anyone had view me. Their next scheduled contact is in 15 hours, 22 minutes and 13 seconds." The hologram responded.
Everyone smiled, then the holo deactivated and everyone left the building and headed back to their ships.
15 hours later.
A group of 5 ships existed hyperspace and entered the Sol system, they immediately detected a small fleet of ships in orbit, and were about to hail them when a message came through.
"This is Commander William Adama of the 12 colonies of Kobol. My brothers, we come in peace."
A/N: this was a one shot idea that just came to me. To those of you who figured it out, the words at the top of the story was from Halo. It was those words that inspired me. I am considering doing some more one shots, so be on the look out.
