TURN AWAY
Look at a pattern long enough, and you will see all kinds of things.

There was a damp patch on the ceiling. Sometimes it looked like a woman's face, though not always. It depended which way you looked at it. It also looked like a dinosaur, one of those leaf eating types. It started as the map of a continent, until he noticed more detail. That's when it began looking more interesting. It made a fairly good Wendigo face seen in a half light, creepy really. It generally morphed from Wendigo to Werewolf as the light faded. And there were other, smaller, images within the whole. An elephant, one ear bigger than the other, a cat's profile. In one corner there was a waterfall and a river. But it was in the mornings that it looked both it's best and it's worst. That's when he saw the face of his brother looking back at him, confused, questioning, wondering, accusing. That's when he would turn away, fixing instead on the woman lying next to him, and the normal life he had finally found since his brother and the angel disappeared.
