Oblivious Farmboys
-Drabble-

"Evil-Sonova-I'm gonna-Oh, I hate you, you little-"

"What are you doing?"

Giving a surprised shriek, Lois Lane fell backwards, landing unceremoniously on her butt. Glaring up at the chuckling man staring down at her with an amused brow lifted, she huffed before getting up and brushing the dirt off her jeans. "Mrs. K asked me to clean the weeds out for her... And that one..." She glared down at the green and yellow plant that had been driving her crazy for the past forty-five minutes, absolutely refusing to come out of the ground no matter what she did. "Is actually a torture device planted by someone entirely too evil -I'm betting Lex- to drive me so crazy I can't even function." She said all of this through grit teeth, her hands balling into fists at her sides.

Clark bit his lip for a moment, staring at her as she glared down, muttering obscenities beneath her breath. She knew how she looked; dirt smudged over her cheeks, sweat seeping through her t-shirt, a twitch to her eye, and a snarl on her lips. Not exactly how she planned for when he arrived back from wherever it was he disappeared to this time. Not that she was trying to look good for the oblivious farmboy or anything... Pfft...

He nodded and then reached over and without any strain at all, plucked the weed from the ground and held it out to her as if it were some kind of present.

With a huff, she tore it out of his hand and whipped it behind her. "I loosened it up for you," she shouted aloud before rushing off, brooding.

Chuckling, he stuffed his hands in his pockets. "Anything else you've loosened up and need me to finish?" he called after her.

She came to a sudden stop, nearly tripping and turned around to stare at him, wondering if he had any idea what he'd just implied. Seeing as he was smiling at her in that entirely too sincere and attractive way, she didn't believe so. Mischievous, she called back, "Yeah. Meet me in your loft!" She winked, feeling much better when she saw him shuffle side to side, a red blush to his cheeks. She doubted he'd actually show up, but one day... She had high hopes for Clark Kent, just as soon as he got past the oblivious thing, she was gonna rock his world.
