Prologue

"Wait big brother, you're going too fast!"

"You need to learn to keep up. Not everyone will always wait for you, Cyrus."

"But-pant-you have-pant linger legs than-me! pant…" Cyrus said as his brother stopped for a moment.

"He's right Zane! You don't need to be so hard on him," a voice said from in front of them.

Turning to view the newcomer Zane took a moment to study them. Only slightly taller than Cyrus, with not-too-long brown hair and blue eyes Kisara Wellner was a friend to both of the brothers, despite their differences.

"Not everyone will be as nice as I am, Kisara."

Differences such as being kind to everyone that she could…oh and being a girl.

"How many times to I have to tell you, it's Ki, Zane? At least Cyrus gets it."

"He's easily impressionable."

"No I'm not!...What does that mean?"

"It means that it's easy to teach you new things. Not all of them good, so you should be careful, okay?"

"What kind of bad things?" Cyrus asked with wide eyes as they walked to the library.

"How to steal, break into places, etc. Those are all bad things, and if I catch you even thinking about doing them, I'll beat you black and blue myself, capice?"

"YES!"

"…I'm sure our parents would prefer having two children return to them tonight…"

"Oh, Zane. Don't you know by now that I wouldn't do anything to Cyrus? At least, not on purpose…" Ki asked as she hugged Cyrus to her, giving Zane puppy eyes.

"Yeah, Big Brother, she won't do anything to me!"

"Have you given consideration to what schools you will be applying for?" Zane asked as he changed the topic.

Here Ki let go of Cyrus and looked away from Zane, rubbing her arm.

"My parents don't want me to go to any of the dueling academies. So, I don't know what I'm gonna do…."

"But you have to! The three of us are gonna go to Kaiba's dueling academy!" Cyrus protested, tugging on her arm.

"It's not that simple Cy. Dad's been thinking about taking a job in another state…partially because he doesn't think you and Zane are the best people for me to hang out with…"

I know, I know, I should not be writing another fic without working on the ones that have been on here for forever, but I am, I swear. I just have so much goin on that I can barely sleep at night. I'm taking full time credit courses at college and since this is my last semester I HAVE to pass them all...my aunts want me to have a job that pays better than the one I have right now...not that the recent law changes helped any...

Any how, I know where I want this fic to go and while I'm posting this, I wanted to see your reactions to it.
