Singing

Elphaba Thropp was different. That was obvious.

But she was the same as everyone else in the fact that she preferred silence while she was studying. Her bubbly blond roommate wasn't granting her that silence.

Glinda was belting out the words to the most obnoxious song that Elphaba had ever heard, repeating it over for about the fiftieth time, "This is the song that never ends. Yes, it goes on and on, my friends. Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was. And they'll continue singing it, but only just because-"

"Will you shut up?" Elphaba asked angrily, interrupting the verse of the song.

Glinda frowned, "No."

"Why not?" Elphaba asked, sounding more desperate then she had intended. But the green girl just wanted this madness to end!

Glinda's eyes sparkled evilly, "Because, Elphie. It's fantabulous, and-" She drew out the last word (to Elphaba's annoyance) before continuing, "This is the song that never ends. Yes, it goes on and on, my friends."

Elphaba muffled a frustrated scream with her pillow, letting out a few words that would have made Glinda blush if she had been listening and not singing that stupid song.

"What can I do to make you stop?" Elphaba asked as Glinda went into another verse. She was prepared to cry, beg, run through the halls of Shiz naked, anything to make Glinda stop singing.

Glinda ignored her and Elphaba threw her hands up in the air, "GAH!"

Without thinking, she slammed her book closed, stalked over to Glinda, grabbed her by the chin, and hissed, "Stop singing."

With that, the green girl smashed their lips together. The next verse of the song caught in Glinda's throat, coming out as a squeak against Elphaba's mouth. Elphaba smirked but didn't break the kiss until both she and Glinda needed air.

"Uhh..." Glinda said intelligently.

Elphaba smirked again and gave Glinda another peck on the lips for good measure before returning to studying.

She had a feeling that the other girl wouldn't be singing anymore tonight.

This was my first time writing Gelphie. I'm pretty happy with it, seeing as I wrote it in about five minutes.
