"What do you want?" Elena breathed. Her voice was shaky but surprisingly strong. Klaus chuckled, stepping behind her as he brushed her hair behind her ear.

"I want to break him." He growled into her ear, he could hear her heartbeat quicken, her muscles tighten and her jaw clench. She spun, turning to face him, her eyes filled with a fiery passion. "And how do you plan on doing that?" She asked with her jaw clenched. His lip twitched into an amused smirk.

"They easiest way to break someone is to crush their heart, destroy it. And the only way to do that is to rip the person who has their heart from them. And Stefan," Klaus said, cocking his head to her side as he searched her face for a fear that, shockingly, wasn't there, "Gave his heart to you, a long time ago." He murmured. Elena swallowed back her fear, licking her lips.

"Go ahead then, kill me. But Stefan won't break. He'll move on and he'll want his revenge. Nothing you do will get to him, he's stronger than you." She shook her head, speaking with such a fury, Klaus was taken slightly aback. Her fire deflated, her words lost hope, she knew Klaus would win; her words only pushed him over the edge.

His eyes flicked over her face, looking at her, as if for the first time. "There is another way." He said softly. She looked up at him, anger and hope bubbled into one. He stepped closer, their breath close and mingling. "To rip someone away doesn't mean death." He whispered.

She blinked slowly and looked up at him, feeling so fragile, just a helpless human. "Then what does it mean?" Klaus felt something stir inside him, the awakenings of something he hadn't felt in a long time. "Love another." He said wistfully. "You can love anyone and there is so much better for you." He said longingly, she reminded him of lost love, of Tatia.

"And who would that be? I love Stefan." She said sternly. Rage burned inside Klaus, like a fire doused with alcohol. He looked her in the eyes, ripping off her necklace.

"You don't love Stefan, you don't care for him. You will love another," He paused, his lips pursed in anger. "Love me." He said final, a tear slipping down his cheek as he crushed his lips against hers.
