A/U with an obvious source. I had to get this tiny annoying plot bunny out of my head.

I am sure you can tell by the title what it is about. If the mention of homosexuality offends you, then don't read this.

Don't Tell Don't Ask.

Several Joes were sitting around a TV in the rec room. They were watching President Obama's newest press conference.

"I don't know how I feel about this whole 'Don't tell don't ask' thing being gone." Wild Bill said. "It aint no body's business to know. Aint now body's business to tell."

"Why not?" asked Dialtone. "Why should any one have to cover who they are? It's not hurting no one to like people of the same sex."

"Still don't think there is place for those people in the Joes." said Shipwreck, as if he was voicing some interior conversation he was having, that sort of fit in with the one at hand.

"Why?" asked Dialtone.

"Imagine a G.I. Joe running around with pink shirt and rainbow pants."

"And?" Dialtone pressed, spreading his hands inviting an explanation.

"I see your point," Clutch joined in. "But would this person really stand out any more than some of us?" He pointed with his chin towards a corner of the room, where a medic dressed in a bright red jumpsuit what playing checkers with an equally colourfully clad team mate in brighter orange and yellow.

"Yea, your right. I guess if there are any gay men here, they would not stand out any more than any of us." Shipwreck said almost reluctantly.

"Do you think any one will step out, now that they can?" Wild Bill asked

The conversation turned to who they thought was gay.

From the door, Duke was discreetly watching the television, and could not help but over hear his men. He left the room before they had gotten to the clothing comments. He did not really care. Once in his office, he picked up the phone and dialled a number.

"Hi John, have you heard?" He listened to the response a smile blossoming on his lips. "I agree, it took long enough. I got next Sunday off. How about we go out for some dinner to celebrate."
