For years I have watched you go from guy to guy, relationship to relationship and I don't think that you realize that each and every time I saw you smile at one of them or because on of them my heart broke a bit more. It broke because with every smile you fell for them more and got further away from me, made my chances of being with you thinner and thinner. But don't be afraid I have loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more. Now I treasure those smiles. I can read them and I now rely on them to show me how you are and every beaming grin you give me brings me one step closer to your heart. Brings me back to life that little bit more. I had died every day, waiting for you but now I get to live every day, being with you. You once asked me what part of our future I most looked forward to. And I told you that it was marrying you, being able to tell people that you were my wife and watch as their faces fill with awe and wonder at how I got such a beautiful, perfect woman to even look at me. I've now realized that I look forward to everything. I look forward to every moisturiser covered stroke of skin after a shower. I look forward to having kids with you. I even look forward to making your coffee every morning, noon and night. I look forward to every, single second of life with you. Lorelai, you have absolutely no idea how much I love you, how much I have always loved you. You once asked me to utter sweet nothings to you but what you have to understand, Lorelai, is that to you I can only speak somethings. Everything I have ever said to you has meant something, most of the time what I say means everything. I've told you my deepest, darkest secrets. Things that nobody else knows. I've showed you a side of me that no one, other than you, will ever see. My life would not be complete without you and not to be big headed but I don't think your life would be complete without me either. I remember once when you came into the diner, years ago, complaining about some idiot judging you about Rory and you know what you said to me? I remember exactly what you said. You looked at me with your red puffy eyes and salty cheeks and you said, "why don't they understand that we're a package deal? Why can't they even consider loving her? Why do they always look at me like I'm cheap after I tell them about her? I just want someone who cares and understands, Luke." In that moment my heart broke ten different ways. Lorelai, I want the package deal. I already love her, have for a long time and I will continue to. On this day I not only ask you to marry me but to accept me into your family, to let me into Rory's world. You are not cheap, you are worth more than all the gold and jewels in the world.
