A/N: this is the ending of the letters. I wanted to write something to help everyone see things from Snape's point of view. Please review!

To Be Forgiven
I was watching carefully as James Potter disappeared. I didn't want to be caught trying to talk to his fiancée. She hasn't listened for almost three years. I understand her motives, but they never did me any good.
When I found my chance to talk to her at her wedding, I decided to take it. I've lost count of how many times I've asked her forgiveness, but each one has gone unnoticed.
She was by herself when I entered the room, and her back was toward me. I tried to be careful stepping toward her, but she caught me.
"Severus, what are you doing here?" she asked, but I didn't hear the note of anger she wanted in her voice.
I reached into my pocket and found what I was looking for. "I wanted to give you this before you went downstairs," I said and handed the box to her.
Like I thought would happen, she put the box down without opening it. It hurt but I had expected it.
What I didn't expect was for her to look at me with confusion and sadness. "Why are you doing this, Sev?" she asked and then reminded me, "You've chosen your path and I've chosen mine. Why are you messing it up?"
I was silent for a minute, not sure what to say. And then she surprised me again.
Picking up the jewelry box I'd given her, she opened it and found a necklace sitting inside. I hadn't been sure what to give her so I got the easiest thing: a diamond necklace.
"Can you put it on?" she asked with tears in her voice. I gently turned her around and took the necklace, fumbling with the catch before I finally got it.
I turned her back around so that she was facing me. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek, careful not to smudge her make-up. "I wanted to get one last look at you before you got married," I told her as I let her go. "I'm not going to be allowed to see you because of… other engagements."
She nodded and tried to stifle a sob. "Please stay for the ceremony, but you can leave after so that I don't get you in trouble," she said.
I nodded and headed to the door. She called after me, "I got your letter. And I do forgive you. I just want you to know that. It had nothing to do with you until later. I had been trying to tell you for years that your friends weren't right. Now I want your forgiveness because of the way I treated you."
I shook my head at such foolishness. There was absolutely nothing to forgive; because I had done that years ago.
A/N: I hope it isn't confusing. If it is, you can read the two letters they both wrote. This happened sometime between To You From Me and From Me To You. They aren't written in any order though.
