Episode Description: 11,000 years ago, the inhabitants of the planet On Altair (P3X-989) were forced underground by deadly radiation, and eventually transferred their minds into exact android duplicates to survive. By the time SG-1 visits their planet, there is only one remaining individual, Harlan, who creates android replicas of the Earth team to aid him. When this is discovered, the androids must accept that they will stay off-world, and the real SG-1 returns home.

Jack paced.

At Jack's request, although perhaps in the mental state Jack was currently in it was more of an order… Harlan gave the "synthetic" SG-1 team their own sleeping quarters. While Harlan had no qualms about sharing everything with his new friends, or workers… or whatever you wanted to call what the SG-1 team now was… Jack still felt the very human need for privacy.

So that was exactly where Jack was, holed up in his room. But no matter how hard he tried, he could not relax. How could he live out his life here? An extraordinarily long life to boot? Everything in him wanted to return through the Stargate and go home. No matter how many times he reminded himself that Earth was not his home, he wasn't entirely convinced.

A knock at the door tore him from his thoughts and he opened it to find Carter. Another very human feeling came over him when she walked past him and he could see all the curves of her body. Life-time looking at his 2IC in a skin tight uniform? This had to be hell. It just had to be.

"Sir…" She was facing away from him so he couldn't see her expression but from the way she trailed off he could tell she was struggling to come to terms with their new life too.

"I know," he sighed and rubbed a tired hand over his face. Harlan had fixed his 'wound' and he looked like himself again. Whoever that was. Carter turned to face him her worried blue eyes staring intently into his as if trying to seek answers. It was strange to think that it wasn't really Carter's human body standing across from him.

"We will adjust." She told him. He rolled his eyes at her optimistic response. He had no doubt she was right but until they adjusted… life was definitely going to be difficult. "Something else I wondered…" She licked her lips nervously and he noticed a strange gleam in her eyes. "Do I still have to call you Sir?" He hadn't even thought of it. Technically he wasn't really Colonel Jack O'Neill just as she wasn't Doctor Samantha Carter.

"I guess not," he shrugged, wondering if she was going somewhere with this.

"So… no more military rules?" She prodded, raising an eyebrow. He watched as she took a step towards him and confused he automatically took a step back.

"No rules…" She took a step towards him. "Carter?" And another step. "What are you doing?" She remained silent, and took another two steps until she was so close he could reach out and touch her. He backed himself further away still, and encountered a wall. He placed his hands on either side against the cold metal, trying to collect himself. He knew should be feeling something other than aroused by her predatory behaviour. She may no longer be his 2IC and really he should feel no more guilt about the lust he had always had to push away… but she could be about to attack him for all he knew! They were goddamn robots.

"Tell me to stop." She told him, sucking her bottom lip into her mouth slowly and seductively. He knew then and there this was no attack. Unless unresolved sexual tension caused them to harm each other, which was quite possible. He pushed away from the wall and took her in his arms. He relished the feeling of her arms around his neck, her body pressed against his in all the right places. He even forgot for a moment that they were now robots.

Maybe spending an eternity with Carter wasn't so bad after all.
