"Hey, that was a great backside you executed there."
The blue sea lion, donning his familiar purple and orange swim trunks, would turn around to meet a tanned human being a few feet taller than him. Donning only a pair of red swim trunks and a white tank top, the man's large eyes were friendly as was his small but genuine smile. His reddish-brown pompadour was slightly wet from his time in the water.
The sea lion smiled back. "Thanks! You were pretty good at that carving yourself. It's cool to meet you. I'm Sully Barkett, by the way. What's your name?" He held out a hand for the man to shake.
The man put out his hand and greeted, "Name's Ty. Ty Parsec. And likewise. I'm guessing you're here to practice for the surfing contest that's in a few hours?"
"Yep! I've been practicing all morning. You're here for it too?"
"You got it. I just got here an hour or so ago to practice... hey, since we're both in the contest, how about we have a little contest on our own? Y'know, as a way to practice and keep us in shape before the actual event?"
The idea intrigued Sully, his ears lighting up. "Sure! And when the real contest comes in, one of us will have to buy lunch after one of us wins."
Ty smirked at the challenge. "You're on! Race ya to the tide!" And he took off in a dash, leaving Sully behind to catch up.
A/N: My very first time writing Sully. I hope I got him right! This was inspired by a comment OLU had in regards to her Sully Surfer piece about Ty and Sully hanging out together by the water. I had an illustration that I wanted to do, and still kind of do, but I'm wary that I won't be able to finish it on time. I decided to go with a drabble instead because it's easier LOL. So enjoy! ^^
Btw, the terms 'backside' and 'carving' are moves used in surfing. Sully's last name is a headcanon I stole from OLU about his surname. XD
