I should have listened
I always was a dare devil. I would do anything someone would ask me. Like that one night. My friends and I were playing around having a good time. I got dared to go into Death Valley. They call the valley on Neon Street Death Valley because there was a big crime that month. There would be another that night.
I was walking Into Death Valley when I heard footsteps behind me. It was heavy footsteps like someone running in puddles. I look down at the ground. There were puddles. So I look back and see someone in the distance behind me running. My first thought was to run. So I did. I ran so fast that I lost balance and tripped. I got back up as fast I could.
I looked back to see if someone was there chasing me still. Nobody was there so I thought I imagined it. I started to turn around but breathing was on my neck. I didn't want to turn around. I was sure someone would be in front of me if I did. But I did and a man was in front of me. He knew my name. I asked who he was but he put a sack on my head and took me.
When I opened my eyes there was a light. I got up to run and leave but the light was gone. I walked down the steep hallway. I looked on the floor and saw blood. The blood formed into words. You better not turn around. You better not scream. Don't open your eyes. So I didn't. I closed my eyes but something was in front of me.
It had foul breath. I couldn't breathe. I put my hands out to push it away but there was air. Nothing was there. I opened my eyes and tried not to scream because there were dead bodies lying everywhere. On the floor I saw a shadow. I heard run. So I ran as fast as I could. I then was lying on the ground with blood everywhere. I should have listened.
