"A Little More"
Yoru is undoubtedly masculine, and Ran, though of the same gender physically, is undoubtedly much more feminine. There is no dispute about that. They complement each other, even more than Sora and Nao do. Yoru is a little taller than Sora, a little more mature, a little more commanding. Ran is a little shorter than Nao, a little more whiny, a little more fragile. The two of them are more of opposites, and they go together better.
Sometimes when they are together they wonder why, why they are together and why they exist and why they are content. They are a part of Sora and Nao, and they are controlled by them. Sometimes they wish their counterparts would disappear, so there would be no threat to their happiness. So there wouldn't be the moment when Sora and Nao don't need them anymore, and they will fade back into what they had been before. The unconsciousness. Or subconsciousness, or whatever part of Sora and Nao they had been before they were called into being. There would be no pain. There would be no memories. And they were scared, of forgetting, of having no worth, no purpose. Of oblivion.
That was the constant fear that had to be erased daily, by being together. Erased with each touch, each kiss, or just each other.
Of course, there was another fear that plagued them every day, every minute, every second. Of being abandoned by the other. Of trying to live alone in this dismal world without the other. That was worse, a lot worse. Because if Yoru only had Nao to kiss, if Ran only had Sora to hold, the world would end.
Because Yoru is just a little taller than Sora, just a little more mature, just a little more commanding. And Ran is just a little shorter than Nao, just a little more whiny, just a little more fragile. They fit together, they belong to each other, and there was nothing Sora or Nao could do to make up for that crucial difference. Nothing at all.
.:unique and irreplaceable, that's what you are to me:.
