Since I've been flamed for percieved flaming of my own in the past in regards to these kinds of oneshots, I'll clarify my stance from the start. I do like the Gears of War franchise. However (and this is the same for everything I write for), that doesn't mean I like everything that's been featured, especially in regards to EU material and recently, leaked material from Gears of War 3 (caution: spoilers). Sort of a 'vent my spleen' thing.
Laws of the COG
1) Stranded are scum who deserve to die for the sole crime of their existence.
2) Colonels are over the top while in the field, and under the top otherwise.
3) Locust culture is non-existent. Even if evidence points otherwise, don't take the time to investigate.
4) Gears are God's gift to humanity. Anyone who isn't a Gear is barely worthy of attention.
5) Students are evil. Because they grow up to be scientists.
6) UIR scientists are evil. We say UIR, because COG scientists aren't evil. Even if we're doing the same thing, we're always the good guys.
7) COG is good. Everyone else is bad (in case this wasn't clear by now).
8) Politicians are the scum of Sera. Even if they're decent guys for the most part in some cases.
9) There's a planet called Earth, where at some point in its history, had a cold war between two power blocs. We bring this up, because all UIR people (or bona fide individuals at least) represent the stereotypes employed.
10) Stranded like setting roadside bombs because...well, they just do.
11) Outside the COG, Khaskhuri speak with their own accents. Inside the COG, they speak with Australian ones.
12) Polyps explode like Flood infection forms.
13) We support Deus ex Machina, or genocide against the Locust via blue energy waves. Whatever.
