CRASH

CRASH!

Marion Williams awoke with a start. It took her a moment to take in her surroundings. It was two o'clock in the afternoon. Her husband, Colin, would be at work. So the only thing that could have made the crash was-

Henry!

Marion leapt out of her chair, knocking over another lamp in the process (The third one this month). She ran through the dining room, tripping over a chair as she did so. She headed for the kitchen, fearing what she would find.

She threw open the kitchen door, and saw a vase smashed on the floor. Dirt and crumpled flowers were lying in a heap, amidst the debris of the broken vase. Marion bent down to pick up the pieces. That vase had been on the top of the fridge.

Marion looked up, and felt both relieved and horrified at the same time.

There he was, sitting on top of the refrigerator: Henry, her only son. Marion grabbed a chair and reached up to rescue her little boy.

"How on earth did you get up there, you crazy child?" she asked. She placed him at the table with a snack to keep him occupied.

Then she began to work on picking up the vase. Marion thought about how much the boy was like his father as she began to sweep up the mess. He did get a bit of clumsiness from her, but even at three years old he was so adventurous. Not that Colin was ever very adventurous. Then again, Henry was not Colin's birth son. Her son's full name was Henry Jones III.

Marion's thoughts were interrupted by a big yawn over on the other side of the kitchen. She picked up young Henry and took him in and laid him on the couch for a nap.

Oh, Indy, she thought. Her memories strayed to all the times with Indiana Jones; all the adventures they had been on together. Falling in love with those gorgeous eyes and that easy smile…

No, Marion, she told herself. Snap out of it. Henry "Indiana" Jones had betrayed her when she was so young, so long ago. And after spending ten years hating him, he showed up again, at her bar in Nepal. She tried to keep hating him, but eventually, no matter how many times she told herself what a jerk he was, she fell again for the eyes and the smile.

They spent so many years together, and then what? He dumped me,she thought. Left me, just a short time before our wedding.

And just a short time before she found out she was pregnant.

But Marion had learned her lesson twice now. After Henry was born, she married Colin, the finest man she could hope to marry.

So there, Jones.

Let him do whatever he wants. I don't care, she thought with a smirk.

I'm married to the man I love, and I have the best son, and I'll never have to see that lousy Indiana Jones again. Right?

Right.

Marion let out a large sigh. Colin would be getting home from work soon. She should begin dinner.

Because she loved Colin and Henry and wanted to give them both the greatest lives in the world and they wanted the same for her and she was going to make them the best dinner they had ever had and not ever see Indy again!

So there, Jones.
