A single star twinkled in the dark sky, and she let her head drop to the windowpane, defeated. A sigh escaped her lips, but she remained motionless, unseeing.
A drop of rain hit the glass, and she flinched, but did not change position. Raindrops pelted the window, and thunder shook the building. Her eyes did not change, or even move.
She was blind.
Darkness shrouded him, and he slumped on the bed, slouched in remorse and defeat. He had let it beat him. He had promised it would never get to him...and it had. He had only made one promise to them. Only one. Simple, right? But, he had broken that promise too. He felt empty, as if he did not have anything else inside. Burying his head in between his knees, he rubbed his head, admitting he had lost.
A cloud hung over his head, and his mood could not be lower.
He was defeated.
He didn't care. Not anymore. No one, especially no one younger than him, was going to tell him what to do. He couldn't take it anymore. Life was painful enough-the scars on his wrists attributed to that fact. The ward at the hospital looked preferable to this. It had to be happier.
He was facedown on his bed, laughing in rage. His family didn't care. Why should they? Life-ha, life. It wasn't worth it.
Why stay? Why not give up?
He was broken.
Another day. Another day to hide. He could hide, and he would. Why would anyone stop him? Nobody really cared. He thought maybe, once...but, no, she was just like all the others. No one could convince him to trust anyone again. So he hid.
His mask was polished and practiced to the point of perfection. He had it down. He could act his part anywhere.
He was bitter.
She could smile. It hurt, but she could smile. Well, technically it wasn't a smile. It was a grimace. A stretching of the lips. What was there to smile about? Her parents divorcing, or her best friend deciding that he didn't really ever wanna see her again. Not just for a few weeks. Ever. And then moving across the country helped a whole lot. But, oh yeah, she could smile.
She would smile all freaking day if that's what he wanted.
She was sour.
A/N: So, review and tell me who you thought was who? Anyway, let me know what you think!
