A.U.: This is my first GG story, so please be gentle.
He shouldn't have to be forced to make this choice. He shouldn't have to decide what's more important to him; whether it is the love of his life-or, the one thing he'd worked so hard for to achieve, so far.
Some people would say that it's a simple decision to make. However, to Chuck Bass it is not such a simple choice to make easily.
Yet, as he faces off with his Uncle Jack–Chuck realizes that he doesn't have many options to consider. Except for the ultimatum that his uncle had given him earlier; one that even Jack knew he'd never agree to, ever.
In exchange for signing back the Empire back to Chuck; he'd have to allow Jack one night with Blair. Of course, his uncle knew that he'd never agree to the trade-off; therefore, it was not even an idea worth considering, at all. For Chuck would never subject Blair to such a thing.
Nevertheless, Chuck knew that Jack held all the cards presently and he knew that if he let his uncle have his way–the whole thing could end badly. Seeing as how, Chuck could take the risk (yet, has no guarantee that Jack will keep his word) and lose Blair in the process; while trying to get back that's rightfully his...
Either way, to Chuck it seemed like he'd lose something. Whether it'd be the hotel or the woman he loves.
Because of his current predicament, Chuck really hates his Uncle Jack. Not just because, Jack was able to outmaneuver him in taking the Empire from him; because he'd always known his uncle was trying to destroy him in anyway possible.
Chuck also hated Jack, for having to make him choose between Blair and everything he'd worked so hard for.
He would never admit to being weak, desperate, or selfish to anyone; but deep-down, he knew he was those things. And that's why, he knew that it didn't matter what happened, he'd end-up making Blair suffer for his foolishness.
At one time, he had promised to be the 'better man,' and in the end, he became the villain, once more. Chuck prayed (even though, he wasn't a religious person), that he and Blair could get by this without drifting apart. However, he also wasn't a complete fool to know that it would be easy for him to get Blair back. Therefore, he hoped that when the time came–she'd understand that he did it for them and their future. So, until then he would only have to make a decision to find out, how he'd play this out.
