Something In The Water
It happened in a split second. One moment it was a hug for comfort and nothing more, the next, lips were meeting, teeth clashing angrily as both girls fought for dominance. Veronica wasn't sure what she was doing, but as Cheryl twisted a hand into her hair, pulling it lightly, she gave up on thinking and let herself drown in feel of lips moving against her own.
"What are we doing?" Cheryl whispered against her jaw line, nipping at the skin there.
The pleasure pain was Veronica's undoing and she moaned, biting it back a second too late. Cheryl looked pleased as she once more claimed Veronica's lips.
"We can't do this," Veronica whispered during the next pause, though she didn't fight when Cheryl's hand squeezed the skin on her hip, pulling her closer on the bench.
"No," Cheryl agreed. "We can't."
Veronica trailed kisses down Cheryls neck, biting at the skin. She half wanted to leave a mark in the perfect alabaster perfection, but even in the state she was in she knew it would be a bad idea. She felt a shot of victory when Cheryl whimpered when Veronica nipped her ear.
"We should stop," Veronica gasped when once more Cheryl took control, her grip on Veronica's hair getting tighter as she guided their mouths back together.
"We should," she agreed, sucking her bottom lip. "We really should."
Veronica pulled away, her breathing heavy as she forced herself to her feet and away from Cheryl. She could still feel the echo of lips and hands on her skin and she'd never been more distracted in her life.
"This... can't happen. I... it's... I."
"I know," Cheryl replied. "I don't... I don't want to care about you, but..."
Veronica nodded, flipping her hair over her shoulder as stood taller, her back straight, her breathing settling to calm. "Then don't."
She walked away with her head held high, wondering what on earth could possibly be going through her mind. First Archie, now Cheryl...
Riverdale was screwing with her hormones. There must be something in the water.
That had to be it.
