This story is based of the orginal 1960s TV show. I don't own 'The Addams Family'. :(
"Mommy! Daddy! They told us a horrible story in school!" Wednesday cried out as she ran past Lurch.
"What was it Darling?" Morticia Addams asked as she knitted.
"It was 'Hansel and Gretel' and-and they killed her!!!" Wednesday sat down on the floor and started crying.
"Killed who, Wednesday?" Gomez said picking her up.
"The witch!" sobbed Wednesday, "Gretel pushed her into the stove and killed her!!!"
"What are they doing in schools these days? Poising our children's minds with-with fairytales!?" Gomez ranted.
"Why don't you tell her the real story of 'Hansel and Gretel'?" Morticia suggested taking Wednesday from him.
"Fine idea Morticia, Do you want to tell it or shall I?"
"You can, Gomez, I love your version," Morticia said smiling.
"Well," began Gomez, "one gloomy night Hansel and Gretel were walking in the woods. After walking and walking and walking Gretel said, 'I think we're lost.' 'Oh no,' Hansel said, 'I left a trail of dead slugs to follow back home.' But, alas, some bluebirds had eaten them all up."
Wednesday gasped, "oh no! Those bad bluebirds!"
"But then, just as it was getting light, they came upon a house of candy and cake and sweets!" Gomez continued.
"Ew!!" squirmed Wednesday.
"Yes, it was very disgusting. But before Hansel and Gretel could run away, a nice old lady came out and captured them with the help of her unicorn!"
Wednesday clung to Morticia in fright.
"Gomez, you're scaring her!" said Morticia.
"Oh, I'm sorry Wednesday. Anyway, after the nice old lady captured them, she put them in a little pink room and tried to feed them ice cream. But, then a witch and her dragon swooped down and saved Hansel and Gretel. And they all lived unhappily ever after. The end." Gomez said smiling.
"That was a wonderful story, father," said Wednesday, yawning.
"Now it's time to get ready for bed," Morticia said.
"Ah yes, good night Wednesday," said Gomez, as Wednesday ran up the stairs.
"Bonne Nuit, Darling," Morticia called after her.
"Tish, that's French…"
