Chapter1.

A warm, gentle breeze causes a tickle on your face, but as you go to brush it off, you find you cannot move your arms. Looking at your skin, you realize that it has turned to a brittle, pale glass. Standing perfectly still, you breathe in shallow gulps of air, knowing that moving would cause your skin to shatter into thousands of pieces. The tickle on your face worsens, and you know that you are about to sneeze. As your skin shatters, you wake up sweating. Knowing that it was but a dream, you can't help realizing that this wasn't just another of the dreams that had something to do with the experiment, and begin to wonder what was that dream. I've seen it somewhere, you think to yourself as the cold of the night takes hold of you, causing you to pull your ragged sheets up. You turn your head to see if any of the others within the corridor are awake, all is dark and still, with only a faint stream of moonlight pushing it's self though a gap in the curtain. Trying to get back to sleep won't be an easy task and you knew it, pulling up the cover's closer. Abruptly one of the other's stirred, it was Jake. Jake was one of those popular kids out of us 7, softly calling his name to find out if he was still awake, you deiced that he can't be awake and continue on with trying to fall asleep. Finally, falling asleep gradually becomes easier as time ticks slowly in this god-forsaken place, and suddenly falling once again into the same twisted dreams that have been occurring over the past week, and they seem to be happening more and more often. Filled with the same torment and displeasure, gradually becoming worse and worse, deeper the dream goes, only to finally become stopped by the rising of the blinds by two or three, of the staff in the institution.

The institution itself was large, containing countless amounts of rooms with scientific experiments going in them. The children were aloud to go within any of the rooms contained within the institution, excluding, only the black rooms. These's rooms weren't actually called the "black rooms" they were called "associate rooms," but only by the staff who were allowed to conduct experiment's in the rooms, were allowed within them. They were called black rooms by the children because they contained mysterious experiments that not even all the staff here knew about. These rooms's also have no windows, allowing no natural light in, which added to the dark and mysterious about the place. The children had often tried to look in but had been blocked out by the blinds and the rooms were also locked at all times. Although the children had divided many plans to find out what was going on inside the rooms. They had all failed, and on some rare occasions they'd had been caught by Mr. Franklin trying to sneak into the rooms. Mr. Franklin, who was the head of the institution, was sometimes nice to the children depending on his mood. Sometimes he would knock over a table with his rage if one of the experiments had failed. But then there was the time he had brought the children icy poles, the children had never in their life tasted something anywhere like this. The institute was all that the children knew, they had never been outside its walls.
