Pyramus & Thisbe

Forbidden love,

Her hand fit his hearts glove,

A love of strength and desire,

Nether said, yes sire.

Both radiant,

Their hearts shared a cadence,

Hearts yearning to share a passionate kiss,

Their dreams they didn't dismiss.

Divided souls,

But though a hole,

True love would find what it missed.

From sunrise to sunset,

There it was where their hearts first meet,

The beloved hole showed,

What their hearts dearly missed.

A bond formed,

Hearts no longer would be torn,

And a plan conceived,

For they wouldn't deceive.

Finally the sun sank,

And she ventured to the mulberry tree,

Where there she planned to wait.

Upon arrival,

Her eyes did discover,

For there close by was a lioness.

In fear she took flight,

Behind her vail did linger.

Soon after came Pyramus,

But his lover was amiss,

There lay a vail,

For he did recollect,

Upon reminder,

His heart did clench,

For he then thought,

My lover's life has been cinched.

His mind had but one conclusion,

That this was no elusion,

So he then bids farewell.

On return,

There her lover lay,

For he had died,

To her dismay.

Thisbe then took,

But one last look,

Then ends her own life,

And thus the cadence was gone.
