Prologue

"Percy, how could you?" Annabeth screamed.

"Something like a trance I say," Percy muttered, "I didn't want to-"

"DIDN'T WANT TO? HOW COULD YOU DO THAT AND NOT WANT TO?" Annabeth shouted.

"I-I messed up, okay. It'll never happen again, I swear on my dad's name.''

"If that's so you won't keep her."

"W-won't keep h-her? Where will she go?"

"The orphanage." Annabeth said pointedly. Percy looked down at his feet. This was not the place for his daughter, not at all. He knew she would run away, any demigod would, it was their natural instinct. ADHD and Dyslexia were also a demigod's traits for certain things like fighting and reading Greek, she would be looked down upon.

"Sure." Percy said but quickly regretted it after he said so.

The next day Percy was driving to the orphanage in his wonderfully salvaged Camaro, which was actually very broken down. He kept if for memories and for his mother's sake. The crying baby in the back seat was making him think even harder for a way to keep his beautiful child. Then he had it, Grover, his forever best friend. Grover would understand and would take her in; Annabeth would never have to know. He jerked the car right turning onto Grover St. where, no doubt, Grover lived. The smallest house on the corner with the most overgrown plants was Grover's lovely home. It stood out in the crowd of urban homes that lined the streets next to it. This, lucky for Percy, made it easier to find in dire moments. He rushed to the door and knocked as hard as he could.

"I comin'," shouted Grover from inside, "stupid mailman!" Percy heard him also say under his breath as he got closer to the door. He opened it and shouted "I've told you a million times that I don't want my lawn mowed by my mailman!" The baby started to cry again; it was even louder this time. Grover looked down into my eyes holding the gaze for a long time.

"I get it," he sighed, "come in." He was shaking his head in amazement and disappointment. Percy followed him into the Satyr's cozy house.

"So, what's her name?" Grover asked.

"Crystal" Percy replied.
