A Flicker of Light
AN: This is just a short of something I wrote because I felt like it. Warning, SPOILERS ahead. Don't read this unless you've seen episode 25. Also, I am sorry if I've made some mistakes on the details.
Though the room was almost completely silent, besides the sound everyone's breathing, Light felt like there was too much noise.
Maybe it was the noises in his head. The fireworks going off, the celebrations taking place.
He held back his smile as L slowly fell off the side of his chair, seeming to fall in slow motion to the floor, something Light found himself enjoying watching.
Quiet gasps filled the quiet room, and Light made sure to join in, only to sound like them..."normal" reactions were important.
Just as L hit the floor, Light rushed over, falling on his knees and holding his arms out, and he managed to catch L just in time.
Matsuda quickly rushed forward, perhaps to see things better, but he didn't dare stand any closer than a few feet away, "Ryuzaki, what's wrong?!"
Light watched as L stared back up at him, and that point, Light couldn't help it-no, Kira couldn't help it-, he grinned.
It was one of those nasty, disgustingly happy smirks full of mischievousness and malice. And L could see it perfectly clear.
He could see that it was Kira.
As L's eyes grew heavy, Kira...no, Light, suddenly felt a pain in his chest. A mental one. His eyes began to water as L's eyes closed, and he felt nauseous, knowing it was his fault, somehow.
But Light couldn't control himself...it wasn't even him anymore...it was Kira.
And in that moment, there had only been a small flicker of Light.
The End
