'She's too good for me', Finn thought to himself. He was just sneaking glances at her from his locker. 'Why was she so perfect?', he thought and sighed. Finn was pretending to go through his locker as he watched her, having an intense conversation with Kurt. He could hear they're conversation from across the hall. They were discussing who sung the song, 'I Will Always Love You' better, Dolly Parton or Whitney Houston?
"I don't care who sang it first, Whitney had much more soul!", Kurt argued. Rachel looked at him angered and said, "She sang it long before Whitney and back then, that performance killed!". Kurt looked away, defeated. Finn smiled to himself at her cuteness. He knew eavesdropping was wrong, but he couldn't help it. Rachel was smart, talented, and was as nice as she could be to her Glee mates.
Finn's attention now turned to some chuckling down the hall. There, was Karofsky , laughing with his hands behind his back and two of his football buddies chuckling about something. Karofsky was making his way towards Rachel and Kurt. 'Oh, no', Finn thought. Karofsky was now next to them, behind his back were two large, ice-cold Slushies. "What's up, Manhands, Ladyboy", he said with an evil grin on his face. Rachel and Kurt caught on quickly. Both closed their eyes and tensed, preparing for the blow. But it never came.
There between blocking the two was Finn. Eyes closed and covered in the Blue and Purple liquids. He had jumped between the three at last second. The whole hallway stood silent, everyone in complete shock. Most of all, Rachel. Who just stood there, dumbfounded that Finn would take two large Slushies for her and her friend. All she whispered was, "wow".
Finn, now covered from head down to his waist, wiped his eyes. When he could open them he looked pissed at the bully, now with two empty cups in his hand. Karofsky dropped them to the ground and stared at his teammate. Finn pushed Karofsky away and said, "Not today, you bully". Karofsky walked away, both embarrassed and shocked at his once careless teammate. The hallway went back into motion, but the three remained still. Finn calmly turned around and looked at her. "Sorry", he said, not looking her in the eyes. She just looked up at him, shocked, but also, appreciated.
Finn turned to leave and was about to walk away when someone grabbed his arm. Rachel had stopped him and made him look at her. She ignored the warm static that traveled through her arm when she touched. "Just let me clean you up" she said, "No one in their right mind would've done that for me". Kurt saw what was happening and walked away, smiling at the fact that his best friends could one day be his sister-in-law.
Finn smiled at her and said, "Okay". She smiled back up at him, not even noticing her best friend left and took his hand, leading him towards the bathrooms and once again feeling that warm static. Finn had felt it, too, and found it comforting and was happy that she now knew he existed and may have actually like him. Maybe, even the way he liked her...
