Disclaimer: JKR OWNS ALL. I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL TO HER FOR WRITING HARRY
POTTER, Without her life would be a bore.
p p CH. 1 p From the moment Lily Evans saw him she knew that she hated him with a passion. It was August 30th and Lily and her parents, Sonya and Joe were in Diagon Ally picking up the supplies she needed to attend her very first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. She had just gotten her robes at Madame Malkin's when she saw him, nose pressed to the display window for Quality Quidditch Supplies. p "Daddy, pplleeeaassee?" p "No Jamsey, we just bought you a new brrom 6 months ago for your birthday." His father replied. p "But Dad, they just came out with a new Model! A Nimbus 1000! Its much faster than the Nimbus 988 that you and mum gave me." He pleaded, pushing his untidy jet black hair, showing his best attempt at 'puppy dog' eyes. p His father chuckled light heartedly. Well. Uh. Okay. But don't tell your mother." p Lily continued walking towards Ollivanders hoping, that she wouldn't have to deal with him in school throughout the semester. When they arrived at the wand store, Joe had second thoughts whether this was the right place or not. The look of the little shack was old and worn and looked as if it were to collapse at any moment. But the walked in anyway. p Lily sat down on a little wooden chair while her mom stood beside her with a reassuring hand on her shoulder and her dad went up to the old counter and rang the bell. Mr. Ollivander strode into the waiting area and greeted them. p "Hello welcome to Ollivanders makers of fine wands since 382 B.C. " He wheezed as he walked behind the desk and took out a little red leather book. "May I please have the name of the person receiving the wand?... last name first if you don't mind." p "Evans, Lily." p As Lily said her name an enchanted pen wrote it down and a set of tape measures sprang to life. They began to take her measurements. Mr.Ollivander snapped his fingers from somewhere in the back room softly, and they stopped. He reappeared with several long thin bokes in his arms. p He opened one of the boxes and handed her a wand. "try this one, 7.4 inches whippy, mahogany, phoenix feather." p She lifted the wand and nothing happened. He grabbed it away from her. After several failed attempts Ollivander handed her a "Ten and a quarter inches long, swishey, made of willow." Lily picked up the wand and instantly she felt like she had found the missing piece to her. It felt as natural as another arm of leg. She gently flicked it in the air and she made the old chair turn shades of gold and red, as her parents and Ollivander let out 'ooooo's and 'ahhhh's. p Lily and her parents walked out of the shop and headed towards Flourish and Blotts. Lily was in awe. She had never seen so many books in her life. In an instand she ran up the stairs pulled out a random book and plopped down on one of the couches and started reading. Mr. and Mrs. Evans laughed at this. They knew that books were one of the only things that Lily looked forward to. p 3 hours later the Evans family returned back to their non-magical home having had a wonderfully different day than the rest. Only petunia, Lily's sister had any bad feelings about the wizarding world.
