Author's Note:

This is a fanfic that I wrote before, I repeat before House of Hades came out. This is Leo writing a letter to his mom (who, yes, is still dead). This puts most of House of Hades aside, and puts Coach Hedge into the picture and Nico out of it. This would have been as if the Giant war had taken place as soon as Percy and Annabeth had gotten out of Tartarus, and now has basically been the only down time they've gotten. They're heading off to Camp Half-Blood to stop the Romans from attacking the Greeks. Just so you know what's going on.

All of the characters belong to Rick Riordan. I am not a guy.

Without further ado, I present Through These Fiery Eyes.

Hey, Mom.

While I was manning the steering wheel of the Argo II, I looked around my ship. Sitting or standing on the deck were my three favorite couples, Percabeth, Jiper, and Frazel. I ship all of them, even though I am a bit resentful of the whole seventh wheel thing. But they are all perfect for each other. And Percy and Annabeth need each other now. They have PTSD, and they're the only surviving demigods that know what goes down in Tartarus. If they didn't have each other, they'd probably become suicidal or something like that. Not good.

Currently, they're holding each other, crying, and making sure that they're both safe. They share a bedroom now, much to the chagrin of Coach Hedge, but it was either that or be woken up by bloodcurdling screams every night. I'm not sure if they'll ever be the Percy and Annabeth I once knew, but right now, seeing them cry, I know Tartarus had to be pretty darn scary. It probably didn't help that as soon as they got out and healed, they had to go right back out into battle. Though, as long as they have each other, they'll be fine.

Frank and Hazel are talking by the railing. They seem to be having an argument. A shame, really. It's probably about me saving Hazel during the war. Frank is so possessive sometimes! Anyway, I kinda want to be her best friend, like my bisabuelo was before she turned 13. Frank suspects that I'm hitting on her, which I'm totally not. He's delusional. He doesn't even like Leo World! But I'm getting off track. I really like them together. They're adorable!

Jason and Piper are staring out at the Mediterranean. They seemed to be deep in thought. They were holding, and I know that their relationship would be the hardest. Kind of a Romeo and Juliet situation, only the two families were two civilizations. If they didn't figure something out, they would be living on complete and utter opposite sides of the country. But they would make it work. I'm positive.

So, Mom. I miss you. I'm off to stop a civil war, and then Percy suspects we'll get summoned to Olympus. And, Mom- I'm sorry.

Through these fiery eyes.

Leo
