Bif Ruffalo couldn't remember the last time she'd gotten a good nights sleep.
The eclipse hung over her like a queen about to eat her first meal in a hundred years, but she didn't notice. An unwitting prey, she sat on her apartment complex's roof, uncaring of the consequences she may face from the superintendent who would one day find out about her escapades, or her general surroundings. She was too busy reciting a poem. Ironically, it was about the dark.
This was ironic because Bif's shadow suddenly went a pure dark black, stepped out from it's place to the eat of her and stood on the ground with dark purpose. Somehow, it absorbed all light; There was nothing left to cast it, so it stood on it's own two legs. The only thing remotely worldly about it was it's ruby eyes, glowing like stones of blood, called by whatever magic had caused it to emerge in the first place. Bif could only watch in horror as it tormented her surroundings, as though she had never cast it in the first place.
It tormented the seagulls, innocently stealing from local food carts. It tormented the people of the city, causing a terrible black and white stampede in the streets below. The civilians were thrown onto the ground or into the air. Bif's shadow- And every shadow, because hundreds of others had emerged- laughed with delight before flying into the sky to find what beckoned it. Bif was filled with sudden dread.
Bif Ruffalo woke up in bed with a gasping start, clutching her chest as though afraid her heart would escape from its cavity. As far as she was concerned, it very well might. The pounding even reached to her ears and echoed in her brain, as if telling her not to forget, because what she had just dreamt was important. But after realizing her heart would not give out, she put her hands to each side of her head to relax the call, easing the feeling away.
She was still filled with vague dread, but from what, she couldn't even remember. She lay down in her red and golden blankets, which she kept with her since her childhood, and went back to bed, unwitting of the plots in the air.
C: Chapter One! It's a bit short, but the rest of the chapters (aside from a few key ones), should be at least 1000+ words long. Even though this story takes place in S1 of Ducktales17, I'm hoping to make it significantly different! With a whole mystery for the gang to unravel! Since uh. The Magicka thing felt kinda forced in the show. Well anyway! I hope you'll stay tuned :heart_emoji: thanks for reading!
