Okay. So. I had a bunch of random oneshot ideas, and this was the first one to formulate completely n my mind. So here it is, number one in a group of oneshots. Pairing is Soulshipping, YubelXHaou Juudai.

Memories

Juudai stirred and slowly opened his eyes. It was still dark and he sat up to look around, attempting to discern what had woken him

at the ungodly hour of… 2 AM? Someone was going to die. As he lay back down, unable to find the source of his awakened state,

a haunting voice reached his ears and caught his attention, his name repeated in a sorrowful tone. The voice sounded familiar to

some part of Juudai, as if from a dream… Or a memory perhaps... Something wet dripped onto his cheek and he looked up. As his

eyes adjusted to the lack of light, he could just barely make out a face in the darkness above him. Then… had those been… tears?

Juudai suddenly felt compelled to reach a sleepy hand up to touch that face. As Juudai caressed the person standing over him, he

leaned into Juudai's touch and sighed. His love… It was still somewhere inside of this young boy. For years… millennia they had

been apart. Always watching, waiting for the host of his beloved's soul. Trapped in that ungodly form…

"Juudai… My Juudai." Confused eyes, still clouded with the last traces of sleep, looked at him.

"Who… are you?" A pang shot through the figure's heart, then he steadied. It would take time to draw out the soul of his love…

His Haou. Yubel smiled down at the boy he had sworn to protect so long ago… And even now.

"It matters not, my love." He leaned down and captured his Juudai's lips in a swift, chaste kiss. "All that matters is here, now, us."

Something inside Juudai remembered the feeling of those lips, the sound of that voice assuring him that everything would be okay

and he relaxed, knowing he was safe and loved at last.
