I wrote this short story as a tribute to the late Satoru Iwata. I hope you enjoy reading it. Furs and Empoleon and Sylveon will be back on schedule next week.

The match ended, with Charizard being the winner. Kirby decided to break the news.

"You all know Satoru Iwata, right?" he asked. Everyone nodded.

"Why are you bringing him up?" asked Ness.

"Well, the eleventh was the day he died in 2015. That was on Tuesday." Kirby replied. Mario bowed his head.

"Oh yeah… he did a lot, didn't he?" Ness said.

"Yeah, he chose my game out of many others. I'm here because of him." Kirby said. Charizard roared.

"He helped to create the first 3D game from my series" he said. Pichu popped his head out from hiding.

"I know I shouldn't be here… but I'd like to say that he also helped fit Kanto into my game!" he squeaked, before popping into hiding again. Charizard nodded.

"He remade my second game! It's the only one to be released in English." Ness chimed. Donkey Kong spoke up, drawing a memory from his banana-filled thoughts.

"He green-lit this series. He worked alongside Sakurai and made a demo with Mario, Samus, Link and I." Mario nodded.

"It's true"

"You won't forget Melee, will you? He helped to get that out on time, fixing bugs with the other programmers." said Peach.

"He truely did do a lot" said Kirby, tearing up. Everyone stood solemnly.

"It was nice of Nintendo to immortalise him in Breath of the Wild." said Link. A rainbow appeared in the sky.

"Hopefully he is enjoying his time on the rainbow road." sighed Kirby. From the rainbow road, Iwata stared down, smiling.

Rest in peace, Iwata. Despite its name, I hope your ride on the rainbow road will last forever.
