A/n: Its raining outside and I was singing on a dock alone earlier and I had this idea, might end up being a songfic. Song is Let Go by Frou Frou (way better than the boys like girls version)
She was sitting there. All alone. He couldn't understand it. It was so unlike her, she was usually so fiery and full of life. But right now she was sitting on the dock of the Black Lake alone listening to a muggle music player. She looked so sad, so peaceful. He stood in the pouring rain watching her, not sure what to do.
"Let go, let go, jump in, oh well what you waiting for? It's alright cause there's beauty in the breakdown. Let go, let go, just get in, it's so amazing, it's alright, cause there's beauty in the breakdown." She was softly singing. It was so peaceful here. The rain falling in an endless pattern creating beautiful ripples in the water of the Black Lake. She stared out across the now greenish lake into the far shore, half hidden by the fog. She could go inside, everyone else was in the common room, laughing and enjoying the fire on a rainy day, but she chose to remain. To stay in her own world where her biggest problem was whether her warming spell would last or if her ipod would get wet. This world where everything was perfect, the upcoming war was just a nightmare, homework was unheard of, and the responsibilities of being head girl were not present. Yes, this world was perfect.
He approached her. He softly told her "Lily, you're wet, you should come inside, dry off, and get warm."
"No thank you James, It's peaceful here, I like it," Her emerald eyes piercing his hazel.
"Well no one should be alone," he whispered as he sat down beside her.
She leaned against him, her head on his shoulder, his arm around her in a loose embrace. Emerald eyes met hazel before turning back to the foggy lake. Two people watching the shore as if watching a miracle. And in this perfect world it was a miracle. The peace, the fresh smell of rain, the soft sound of water hitting water, and waves crashing onto the shore. The two sat there, caught up in perfection until the rain stopped, and even then they remained. Slowly a rainbow arched across the sky and the two looked at it and wished that every afternoon could be as perfect as this one. The two simultaneously stood up and started back to the castle, hand in hand, matching smiles on their faces.
Just a short little thing that was stuck in my head. I actually was on a dock alone earlier while everyone else was inside and I was singing this song and it was raining unfortunately I didn't have a James to keep me company or a rainbow.
