"Kyoko. Wait for me. After this meeting with the Millefiore, we can finally get married and resume our normal lifestyle. You know, cuddling up in the bed on movie nights. Trust me, I'll be back."
She remembers vividly the promise her beloved had given her. Kyoko can only sigh as she settled herself comfortably on the dining room chair, resting her head on her hands as she fervently hoped Tsuna arrives back safe and sound.

The Tenth Boss of Vongola stumbled and gasped, clutching his gruesome gunshot wound embedded in his abdomen. He raised his gloved hands in renewed determination, however, cold orange eyes glinting dangerously as he punched another mafiaso straight into his gut.
Screams of agony and the sound of breaking bones filled the atmosphere. The smell of burnt blood almost made him gag.
'Minna...' Tsuna averted his eyes to his guardians. But he knows they would be alright without his help.
Then he felt it.
Another bullet slammed straight into his chest. Amber eyes widened in shock as he stumbled and fell onto the glossy mahogany table. Another crimson splatter blossomed on his suit. Tsuna clenched his eyes tightly, trying to filter out the torturous pain coursing through his veins. He could vaguely hear the panicked yells of Yamamoto, Ryohei and Gokudera.
His family.
All of a sudden, the large floor-to-ceiling windows shattered with an unceromonious CRASH. Strong wind blasted through the room as the sound of a chopper filled the air. The brunette lifted his head weakly, glaring in hate as his gaze fell onto the Millefiore Boss standing in the helicopter, a smoking revolver clasped in his hands.
As usual, Byakuran had that smile on his face. That twisted, damned smile.
"Arrivederci, Decimo." The white-haired man grinned. And with that, he was gone, leaving him and the rest to clean up the remaining hitmen.
No no no no NO!
Byakuran escaped. Again.
Tsuna wildly flung another punch to the man who tried to sneak up behind him. Panting heavily, he leaned against the nearest wall for support, sliding down tiredly. Yamamoto rushed to his side, talking to his Boss in rushed tones.
" The Tenth is down! I repeat, the Tenth is down! Send a medical team immediately!" the silver-haired bomber yelled over his phone. Hibari, Ryohei and Mukuro finished up the rest of the opposing family.
"Tsuna, Don't you dare close your eyes! You can't die on us!" the swordsman yowled, repeatedly shaking the brunette by his shoulders.
"SAWADA! OPEN YOUR EYES!"
"Herbivore...You better remember that spar you have yet to fulfill."
"Kufufufu. Vongola, you cannot die yet, I haven't even possess you."
Tsuna peeled open his eyes tiredly, and froze. He could overhear the panicked babbling and threats, but for some reason, he couldn't decipher what they were really talking about.
For he stared at the person standing on his knees.
Reborn.
But how could it be him? Reborn is...R-R-Reborn is...
"Tsuna, you baka. How did you end up like this." Reborn scolded, frowning. His student chuckled however, and replied,
"Neh, Reborn. You won't be alone now, won't you?" Tsuna gave a sad, lopsided smile. The infant however, shadowed his eyes using the fedora.
"Baka..." He whispered painfully.
And the Vongola Jyuudaime slumped forward, eyes closed, and never to open again.

Kyoko glanced at the clock. Everyone told her Tsuna-kun was dead. But she'll never believe them. For Tsuna-kun will, and always will fulfill his promises.
So she waited.
Days.
And waited.
Months.
And waited.
Years.
But he never came back.
