A/N: I just found out that Law is a snow leopard but he's still Torao, so yeah, I suck at titles. Also, I revised this a little.

Disclaimer: Eiichiro Oda owns One Piece.

It took every ounce of Nami's self-control not to race to the Heart Pirate captain and smack him to the head and beyond. She was mad. She was so, so mad her nails almost drew blood from gripping her knuckles so tight, her lower lip already bruised from biting too hard. The only thing that stopped her from unleashing her wrath on to the stupid captain was his current state.

Sanji peered at the orange-haired woman from the corner of his eyes and sighed. He was relieved that his crew and ally captain are alive but alert and ready to jump in front of his precious Nami-swan in case she did something she might regret later. It wasn't like he was protecting Law. He wanted to kick him as much as Nami wanted to smack him especially after what they found out from Law's navigator, but it could wait. Besides, he already looked like death. For now, the captain of the Heart Pirates needed all the medical attention he could get. He needed Law to be in his prime for when the confrontation came, because with Nami like this, he was sure it was going to be ugly.

Trafalgar Law looked like hell. He and the other half of the Strawhat Pirates have just arrived to Zou from Dressrosa and the wounds from the battle against his former crew were still fresh. One could say it was a miracle that he and the Strawhat captain managed to defeat Doflamingo, the worst Shichibukai in existence, especially since it wasn't a battle where the victors came out unscathed. It was, in fact, the other way around. Law almost died. And he was still dying.

The injuries Law received from Doflamingo were every bit as lethal that if he were a normal person, he would've died from the first strike. Thanks to the will that Cora-san left, he was able to push beyond his limits, but now that the battle was over, the impact of each slash and every strike were all coming down to him fast, and the pain was excruciating, to say the least.

Among all the wounds that Doflamingo inflicted on him however, it was his arm that almost did him. He was lucky he still managed to reattach his severed arm before it was too late, but the lack of strength to keep his Room up prevented him from operating on the rest of his wounds and only let him connect the most vital of nerves from his arm to the shoulder. The doctors from Dressrosa helped to alleviate the pain, enough that Law stopped thrashing about but not enough for him to stop screaming. It didn't help that Big Mom's crew was in pursuit of the Sunny-go so the treatment had to be cut short. In the end, Law was given powerful tranquilizers to keep him out.

And so on the night after landing to Zou, Law found himself staring at the familiar ceiling of a room - his room. He was back in his submarine. He didn't know what happened with Big Mom, but the silence was a good indication that they were not under attack. His whole body felt numb. from all the kinds of pain killers Tony-ya and his crew must have put on him, but knowing how much damage he received from the last fight, he knew that if he moved even a single muscle, it would trigger a chain of body pain. Carefully, Law worked his tongue around his mouth to test movement, tasting only bitterness and the lack of saliva made him cough up violently. His right hand automatically sweeping to the desk on his right to find the glass of water he knew would be there however, the sudden pain on his shoulder made him recoil with a grunt. The consequent movements only added to the pain he had been avoiding in the first place.

Damn this all. Law felt like hell and he knew he looked like it too.

Easing back on his bed with a series of grunts and moans, he heard a soft tch to his left. A woman with fiery orange hair sat crossed-legged on a wooden chair, arms crossed over her chest with a pissed off look on her face. Nami-ya. No doubt that look was directed at him. Law ignored her and closed his eyes. This seemed to make the woman haughtier though as she tch-ed again petulantly, this time much louder and more purposeful. When Law didn't bat an eyelid, he heard her stood up, deliberately clanking the chair behind her for the added 'I'm pissed at you' effect. Law turned his head to the right, just slightly that it wouldn't start a muscle pain but enough that Nami would notice. He was not going to yield to the navigator of his ally crew. He had seen through her act and he wasn't eager to take part in it. Law just wanted to drink his water and go back to sleep but if the woman was not going to help him, then he might as well just sleep. Whatever it was she was annoyed at, it needed to wait until he recovered.

Nami was seething. This man had the guts! She had volunteered to keep an eye on Law while he slept and was instructed by Chopper to make him drink the glass of water by his desk once he woke up. It was important that he drank water first thing after waking up, he said. However, Nami was too furious at the ally captain that she wanted him to beg for it. It was the only kind of compensation she would accept to ease the anger she felt toward this man. Moreover, he survived Doflamingo so she was pretty sure he'd survive without a glass of water too. Besides, the rehydration salts ensured that he wasn't going to die from dehydration. Nami wanted to have him pleading for forgiveness at what he had done not only to her crew. But this stubborn of a man had blatantly ignored her and if she was mad before, oh there was hell to pay now.

Bracing herself for a series of her own outburst, she walked to the pirate captain to force him out of his fake slumber, but the sudden groan that erupted deep from the man's chest stopped her on her tracks.

"Lami..."

Nami? Did he say her name?

"Lami..."

Lami, was it? Nami tilted her head toward his sleeping form, bracing her arms on the side of his bed to listen better. She knew about his nightmares and Cora-san from Bepo but she hadn't heard about Lami. What was Lami? Suddenly, Law's left hand shot up to grab her wrist and before Nami could react to it, she was surprised to see that the captain was staring defiantly at her. Her mind screamed at her to run. Even half dead, this man still looked dangerous. The golden yellow of Law's eyes were so clear and bright that for a moment all she could do was stand still. His eyes were hypnotic. Pretty, she thought. Just like the color of the treasures she loved so much. But one thing she was aware of, these were not the eyes of a man drugged with pain killers. She had seen the same look on her own captain before, but it was different at the same time.

"Lami, stay here." The captain commanded, his voice so clear and so soft it was amazing how he made it sound so full of authority and tenderness both at the same time.

The captain thought she was this Lami person. The grip on her wrist was tightening more and more. She couldn't care less about the pain yet, she couldn't mistake the heat coming off from his skin. His temperature was higher than normal. Law was delirious with fever. Whoever this Lami was, she was definitely an important person to the captain if he was dreaming about her in his delirious state.

"I won't go anywhere." Nami managed to croak out so fast, her other hand making its way to hold the wrist that was gripping hers so painfully. Law then nodded ever so slightly and fell back to sleep, his grip loosening.

What the-

"Tora-o! Are you awake yet?!"

The interruption immediately pulled Nami back to her senses and she looked to the doorway to find her own captain standing with a huge grin on his face with his hands propped on each side of the hips. Looking at him, you would think he owned the place.

"Oi, Nami! Why is Tora-o not awake yet?! Sanji said we can't start partying until Tora-o wakes up. Can we wake him up now, Nami? Zoro just finished cutting wood for the bonfire. It's going to be so much fun! Shishi!" Luffy said proudly.

It was obvious her captain was excited from the way he was speaking faster than normal, but she wasn't amused. Nami wished Luffy would just shut up. Would it kill him if he just sat quietly for one moment? Yes, it would kill him, Nami thought. Closing her eyes, she rubbed her temples, willing away the headache that was about to form. She didn't notice when Luffy walked to Law's side and started pinching his cheeks exaggeratedly, nor did she notice how her captain took a huge, huge breath to prepare for an ear-shattering yell.

"OIII, TORA-O! WAKE UUUUP! THE PARTY IS ABOUT TO ST-" A smack to the head stopped Luffy's sentence immediately.

"LUFFY! YOU GET OUT OF THIS ROOM RIGHT NOW!" Oh, her wrist felt so good! She wanted to smack Law tonight, but Luffy was a fine substitute too.

"I'shorry." Luffy muttered helplessly, bruises already forming around his face.

Quickly, Nami turned to Law and heaved a breath of relief when she found him still sleeping peacefully. But the relief proved to be short-lived when moments later, she heard several footsteps running toward the room. Nami prepared herself for the chaos about to ensue.

"AHHH! Nami, Luffy! What happened?" Chopper asked frantically, always ready to treat the wounded when he saw Luffy's state.

"CAPTAIN!" The Heart Pirates cried simultaneously, running toward their captain to check his condition.

"Captain, I'm sorry!" Bepo muttered, lowering his head already depressed.

"Hey you! Why are you depressed already?! And why are you apologizing?!" Shachi yelled.

Nami could only shake her head. This crew was almost as bad as hers. They were definitely not the type of crew one would guess the infamous Surgeon of Death would have.

"You guys! Don't be so loud! Captain is still recovering!" That was Penguin. Nami would've thanked him, but he was shouting as loud as the rest of them. "Nami-san, how is Captain? Has he woken up yet?" Penguin asked, his gaze turning to the untouched glass of water on the desk, "I'm worried he'd have a mighty sore throat tomorrow."

Nami cursed under her breath. She forgot to have Law drink the water. She had been too shaken by what happened to remember.

"Ah, nope. Your captain hasn't woken up yet." The lie came to her effortlessly and she didn't feel bad about it. Good luck with the sore throat Law was gonna have when he woke up.

With all the fuss happening inside the room and even more people spilling in, it was easy for Nami to slip outside and head to the Sunny where Sanji could be seen clearing the mess the two pirate crews have left on the dock. She was looking down at her wrist. Law's grip was too tight that the skin turned red, and it hurt a bit too.

"NAMI-SWAAA- Eh? Nami-san, what's that on your wrist?!" She didn't notice Sanji coming over to her. Nami guessed what happened with Law really struck something in her if she suddenly became inattentive of her surroundings. Putting her hands behind her back, Nami turned to Sanji sweetly and batted her eyelashes.

"Sanji-kun, could you make me a chamomile tea? All this stuff with the Yonko is stressing me out."

"Of course, my Nami-swan~!" Much to the cook's delight, Sanji immediately turned on his feet and spun into the kitchen all the while professing his love to his Nami-san.

Now left alone in her thoughts, Nami peered at her wrist again and pondered over the events that transpired with the captain of Heart Pirates just minutes ago.

What the hell just happened there?

A/N: Yar Nami, what the hell just happened there? Because I have no idea either. Let's say I just wanted to buy a hotdog at the 7/11 across the street but somehow I went Zoro and ended up in Madagascar as a pokemon master. That's how far my initial goal was to the end result of this fanfiction. I hope Law gets well soon though so Nami could confront him properly. :p

Anywaaaaay, this is my contribution to the LawNa support group although there's only a teeny little bit of LawNa here. I'm still hoping to write about a dense Law and a head over heels in love with Nami though. Soon, I hope.

P.S.

I don't know how to write characters aside from Nami and Law. Also, I'll be trying to avoid action like the plague, so don't expect anything.

P.P.S.

Everything here will be stand alone but they all happen in the same verse, unless otherwise stated. So yes, this is a oneshot and the next chapter will be a oneshot too and so on and so forth.

P.P.P.S.

How do you read Lami? Like Nami? Or like Camie? I read an unofficial translation somewhere where they spelled Lami as Lamie.
