Echoes of Immortal Song
I hear your voice across the wind,
An unforgotten song.
Bereft of instrument I try,
To hum and sing along.
…
No sound comes out of this dead ghost,
No instrument to play.
So I stand and listen in the mists,
And remember brighter days.
…
There's one who bears our bloodline,
A hero of twilight.
Sometimes I listen, hear his howls,
Cutting through the night.
…
As a golden wolf I guide his path,
Teach him how to use a sword.
I feel pride each time I see him,
But also sorrow, loss and more.
…
And yet as a wolf, I hear your voice still,
Piercing ears, piercing soul.
My bones they ache, feel torn,
This takes a heavy toll.
…
So I start, I whine, I sing,
I let howl linger on the air.
Can you now hear my own voice,
Can you hear my own despair?
…
I'll be yours forever,
And I hope that you're still mine.
I hope that when I leave this world,
You'll be there to find.
…
But for now I'm just a shadow,
A shade, a ghost forlorn.
But I know one day we'll reunite,
One day I'll see the dawn.
