I Love You Daddy
6-year old Sonny Munroe, skipped down the sidewalk, hand in hand with her father. They were going to her favorite place, the Wisconsin Park. Sonny's mom insisted that they spend some time alone together, since Mr. Monroe was always working, and also since today was a special day, Father's Day. And of course Sonny was ecstatic to spend time with her dad in her favorite place.
As they reached the park, they saw a lot of other daddies with their little tots. Sonny had a huge grin on her face. She grabbed her daddy's hand and ran. They found a park bench, and sat down.
Just then a small little boy, with blonde hair and blue eyes walked up to them, followed by his father.
"Hey Jake," said the little blonde one's father.
"Hello Chase," Sonny's dad said with a smile on his face. "This your boy?" He asked referring to the boy, who was now looking down at his shoes.
"Yep, name's Chad." Chase grinned.
"I see you still going strong with the CDC initials." Sonny's dad said and laughed.
The two men continued talking with each other.
Sonny hopped down from the bench and walked to the boy.
"Hello," she said and smiled sweetly.
"Hi," Chad said shyly.
"My name's Sonny."
"My name's Chad Dwylan Cooper." He said proudly.
Sonny smiled. She liked this boy. He was different.
"Do you want to play with me in the sand box?" She asked
"Sure!" he said and grabbed her hand. They ran to the sand box.
Few minutes later, they were playing in the sand box, messy and laughing.
"Do you wanna be my bwest fwiend?" Sonny asked, a bit shy.
Chad smiled. "You're my bwestest friend." Together they held hands and walked back to their daddies.
Meanwhile, Mr. Munroe and Mr. Cooper watched their children with amused looks on their faces.
They appeared to be having the time of their life.
"What do you think will happen in the future?" Mr. Munroe asked.
"Who knows. It's the start of something new." Mr. Cooper said and laughed.
They continued laughing and watched as their little tykes walked over to them hand in hand.
A knowing smile crossed over their face. Something was bound to happen, in the future.
"Daddy!" Sonny yelled and ran over to him. Mr. Munroe laughed and picked up his daughter.
"Me and Chad Dwylan Cooper are best fwiends," she said.
The men laughed more. "See you teaching your son, his title."
Mr. Cooper shrugged.
"I love you daddy," Sonny said. "Thank you." Sonny said and planted a kiss on his cheek.
"I love you too Daddy!" Chad said like a happy hyper little kid.
"Love you too kiddo." Mr. Cooper said.
Sonny and Chad looked at each other and then said together. "Happy Fwather's Day!"
