Honey couldn't believe it. Tadashi, her Tadashi, was gone. And she wasn't there. She could have helped him, somehow, she knew it. She'd do anything for her Tadashi.
But now he was gone forever, and she couldn't do anything but say goodbye.
After Aunt Cass had gone back to her room, and GoGo, Fred, & Wasabi had left, and she didn't know where Hiro had gone, probably back to his room too, Honey sat in front of Tadashi's memorial.
"You were many things to me." Honey whispered.
"A mentor. A friend. And the only one I will ever love."
A candle flickered. Honey put it out.
"I will never be anything without you. I will never be happy without you. Because you are the only one I will ever love."
Honey blew out another candle.
"I know you're still here, Tadashi. You're here because all of the effect you had on this world while you were in it is still here. And always will be. You had an effect on me too. You are the only one I will ever love."
One more candle was blown out.
"Hiro misses you, Tadashi. I miss you. Because you are the only one I will ever love."
Honey blew out another candle.
"All those times we would go to the Nerds' Ball together? It will never be the same. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
A fifth candle was snuffed out.
"I wanted us to get married, Tadashi. Now I can never be married. Because you are the only one I will ever love."
Candle no. 6 was blown out.
"I promise i'll take care of Hiro. No matter what. Because you are the only one I will ever love."
Candle 7 was gone.
"You're amazing. I'll never say were, because you will always be amazing to me. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
Candle 8 was blown out.
"The time passes quickly. But i'm so happy to have had all those years together. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
Candle 9 was gone.
"I miss the days when it was rainy and we would turn on the radio and dance. That was fun. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
Candle 10 was blown out by Honey.
"You were my beautiful thing. You made me so happy. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
Candle 11 was snuffed out.
"You're wonderful. And will be in my thoughts always. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
6 more things were said by Honey, all of them ending with 'Because you are the only one that I will ever love'. Finally she was down to the last candle, the eighteenth.
"I wish we had more time to talk, Tadashi. But this is the last time. This is Honey Lemon, signing off for the last time. Because you are the only one that I will ever love."
And with those last words, and one last small puff, Honey Lemon blew out the eighteenth candle, and walked out of the room.
