A/N. Another prompt, "Names on the sidewalk" from All Unwritten at LJ. :)

Danny looked down and smiled at the sight in front of him on the sidewalk…

"I can't believe they're still here"

"What are baby?"

He took her hand, and moved her in front of him so that she could see where he was pointing to.

"You see that, there on the floor?"

"Yeah-"she nodded against him

"Well, that was the summer when me and Louie took the boat and headed out to the Hudson. You know when Ma didn't speak to me for like a week."

"Yeah, I remember Sheldon saying"

"Well, we couldn't leave the block for three weeks after being grounded for the one week... So, me and Lou decided we'd piss Ma off"

"So you wrote your names in the sidewalk?"

"Yeah-"

"With permanent marker Danny?"

"Yup"

"How did you not get killed?"

"I smiled, Louie shouted. Louie got grounded, Danny didn't"

"Dan-?"

"Yeah Montana," he smiled nuzzling into her neck

"It's never been cool to refer to yourself in the 3rd person"

"Yeah, yeah, alright then… I'm surprised at my 10 year old self though"

"Why?"

"Look here-"Danny took her hand, and led her further down the sidewalk.

She smiled reciting what was on the sidewalk "D & L partners in crime"

"Yeah, so I might have meant Louie at the time, but now-"

"Danny, Lindsay- Dinner!!"

"God, it's like I'm 6 again." He whined at Lindsay before yelling "Comin' Mom" towards the direction of his childhood house, before heading back.

She hovered where they had been stood for a few more seconds, imagining 10 year old Danny, writing their initials into the sidewalk, with a grin across his face.

"You comin' Montana?" he said smiling, bringing her out of her thoughts

"Yeah, yeah, I'll be right there"

She looked down one more time at the names in the sidewalk, and rubbed her swollen stomach. Soon enough she'll be grounding her very own baby Danny for scaring her to death by doing something, that no doubt his and her father had taught them.

"Montana-"he whined

"I'm comin' Danny"

Taking once last glance, she ran after Danny smiling at their names on the sidewalk.
