Fortune Telling

The crystal ball in front of him reminded him of opaque eyes of a frog he had seen when he was very young. The fact that the frog had been dead, bothered Gray even more.
Gray sighed for the umpteeth time as he waited for the old lady to come out from behind bright orange curtains. Lucy had dragged both him and Natsu to some remote area after their quest had ended. She wanted her fortune to be told, and since all the tree of them had gone together, Gray and Natsu had no other choice but to go.
It had been some weird old tent at the outskirts of the town. It smelled stale and he wouldn't be too surprised if something had died inside.
"Maybe she'll tell me my love life outcomes!" Lucy's eyes shone with hope and anticipation.
Gray snorted. "Your love life is sitting right beside you." Gray pointed at his pink friend who was happily chatting away with Happy.
"Yeah, Lucy," Natsu said as he caught on. "You're my wife, what else do you want?"
Lucy rolled her eyes, but her cheeks had gone slightly pink. "Oh, shut up both of you. Maybe I'll have a different husband in a few years."
"Hey!" Gray rolled his eyes as the pair started bickering back and forth. He was glad him and Juvia were nothing alike. If anything, she was too understanding at times.
They had been together for a while now. It sort of just happened. Gray wasn't keen for using the words 'boyfriend' and 'girlfriend' but he was sure that's what they were, or something along those lines. All he knew was that him and juvia kissed and did more things that couldn't fall under the category 'friends.'
"Maybe I'll ask Juvia's future love life!" Lucy gave Gray a taunting smile. Another thing; Gray and Juvia hadn't told anyone about their relationship. More like Gray didn't want anyone to know. He didn't want them to think he had gone soft in some way. "She's the only one that single of all us girls!" Lucy continued.
"Oh, yeah." Natsu said. "Juvia's pretty nice. She can also cook very good. I don't think she'll be single for long."
"What do you guys care?" Gray asked, irritation started to creep on him.
"She's our friend," Lucy said with a smile. "We care about her. We're all almost twenty six, I think she needs someone." She winked at Gray. "Or at least someone she can have fun with."
"What about that prince guy that she met with the other day?" Natsu added in, catching both Gray and Lucy's attention.
"What prince guy?" Lucy asked, beating Gray to the question.
"Some guy, who claimed to be some sort of far away land prince," Natsu tapped on his chin, trying to remember. "Blonde hair, blue eyes, kind of tall." Natsu scrunched his nose. "Juvia smelled like roses for the longest time after speaking with him. I think his name was Vince, or was it Lance?" Natsu shrugged.
"What?" Lucy exclaimed. "Why didn't she tell the girls about it? Oh, she's in so much trouble when we get back! I can't wait to tell Erza!"
Gray couldn't help but feel even more irritated at the comment. Juvia was friends with a prince? Some blue eyed guy? Why had Gray never heard about it before?
A green monster grew inside of him, and he wanted more than anything to leave and get back to Magnolia. He had to find out about this Prince guy. He was about to suggest they all leave; the woman was taking too long, but the she appeared from the orange curtains. She wore a dark green dress with a shawl and enough jewelry to cover her whole body. Her face face wrinkled and so were her hands as they came around the crystal ball.
"My name is Shannah," the woman croaked out. "How can I be of service to you today?"
Lucy scooted closer to the woman. Her eyes were twinkling. "Hello, Ma'am," she started. "I'm—"
"—I know who all of you are," Shannah cut in. "Lucy Heartfilia, Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster," as she said their names, her biddy eyes scanned their faces. "Ask me the questions you want."
"Well," Lucy hesitated, as if she didn't know what to ask. "Can you tell us if something good is in store for us?"
The woman cackled in laughter. "I can say it's already here, and it's slowly growing." She gave Lucy a wicked smile. "You're a busy pair," she eyes Natsu. "Aren't you?"
Gray raised an eyebrow at his friends, who had gone red in the face. Lucy's eyes were wide. In shock, as if she didn't know what to believe. She hadn't expected that.
"Are you sure?" Lucy whispered.
"I have answered what you asked, it is up to you to believe me or not," Shannah turned her eyes towards Natsu.
"You, pink haired." Natsu glared at the woman. Gray couldn't help but hold back a snicker. "You'll see him again, soon."
Natsu's eyes widened in surprise. Gray wasn't sure what he was hiding, but at the shock from his friend, it might've been big.
The woman turned towards Happy, who had hid behind Natsu. "Cat, Happy, am I right?" She gave Hima. Wicked smile. "You'll have a choice in the future that can determine a lot of things. Make sure you don't choose your third choice. Always go with what is right."
Gray couldn't help but think that the woman was crazy. Out of all of them, Happy got a very few prediction. He was just a cat.
"Gray Fullbuster," she started, but he shook his head.
"No, thanks old woman," Gray got to his feet. "I don't believe in these things."
He monitored for the other to join him. Lucy looked close to tears, and Natsu just looked confused. Happy was clinging to Natsu, as if his life depended on it. Gray always knew that shrinks were bad. They were mostly lies. The woman had probably heard of them from the Great Magic Games and had build from that.
Lucy dropped a few jewels on the table and stood along Natsu. She thanked the woman, and all of the three headed out the tent, but the woman's voice stopped him,
"You should be careful Gray Fullbuster," she gave him a scary smile that had Gray's skin growing goosebumps. "It's wrong to keep something hidden for so long. If you don't do something soon, someone else will take her." She gave him a two toothed smile. "Someone named Vinclquence." She winked at him. Gray eyed her suspiciously but closed the curtains behind him.
Gray's heart was beating very fast and the urge to see Juvia grew within him. He wasn't one to trust in fortune tellers, but something about Shannah made his skin crawl, and his head hurt. He knew better than to take her fortune lightly.
