Oyaji

Have you ever hoped for something that will never be yours?

Or wished for something that never had hope?

Have you ever walked not knowing where to go?

Or stood not having a hand to hold?

Have you ever felt hurt because of love?

But continue loving because you are in love?

Have you ever tried to collect every grain of sand?

But each time you came back with an empty hand?

Have you ever loved a doll?

But you knew you won't get a blink at all?

Have you ever regretted of not doing something you should have done?

Then pondered on what would happen if you did?

Or have you regretted doing something you shouldn't have done?

Then wonder what it would be like if you didn't?

Just want to give up and not fight?

Just because of father's love.

Hanamichi's eyes fluttered open. The cemetery was quiet. The sun was fading into the horizon, bathing the graveyard with golden light. Nothing sadder than looking back on some part of his life with regret, unknowing life's cruel ways.

Looking at his father's gravestone, he realized he was craving for something. He felt the longing intense for father's love. How he wished his great old man would stand behind his tomorrows, watching him chasing his own star or pray for he won't falter.

"Happy Father's Day, Oyaji…"

He placed a bouquet of white rose on his father's gravestone and slowly took a few hobbling steps back home.

Blood is always thicker than water and nothing could change that.

A/n: Hanamichi's dad passed away when he was still in junior high, right?

"The greatest weakness of most humans is their hesitancy to tell others, how much they love them while they're alive"- O.A Battista. In honour of Father's Day, tell your father how much you love and appreciate them. Be contented with what you have because it's not forever.

Happy Father's Day, everyone.
