(A/N This is when Snape finds out that Lily is dead, to the song Here Comes Goodbye by the Rascal Flatts)

I can hear the truck tires coming up the gravel road

And it's not like her to drive that slow, nothing's on the radio

Footsteps on the frontporch, I hear my doorbell

She usually comes right in, now I can tell

Snape was sitting on his couch when Narcissa came in. She was the only one that knew

how much he had loved Lily, how he had begged the Dark Lord to spare her.

"I'm sorry Severus, she's gone."

Here comes goodbye, here comes the last time

Here comes the start of every sleepless night, the first of every tear I'm gonna cry

Here comes the pain, here comes me wishing things had never changed

And she was right here in my arms tonight, but here comes goodbye

Narcissa caught Sanpe as he fell, held him in her arms as he started to cry. She stroked

his head as he sobbed, and they stayed like that for ages.

I can hear her say "I Love You" like it was yesterday

And I can see it written on her face that she had never felt htis way

One day I thought I'd see her with her daddy by her side

And violins would play "Here Come the Bride"

After a while Narcissa took his head in her hands, "There's something else,"she said

"her son Harry, is alive." Snape remembered the day he got the letter from Lily, the only one he had gotten after she had marriied

Potter. She said she had named her baby Harry after his dad, even though Snape had never liked him, but he liked how Lily had remembered. She asked him to make sure Harry was ok if something happened to her,

and Snape had promised he would. He knew he had someone important to go see.

But here comes goodbye, here come the last time

Here comes the start of every sleepless night, the first of every tear I'm gonna cry

Here comes the pain, here comes me wishing things had never changed

And she was right here in my arms tonight

But here comes goodbye

Dumbledore was waiting in his office. He noticed the streaks where the tears had fallen, and felt a small amount of pity for the man. But Snape was the reason Lily had died, he was the reason that Harry was an orphan. He told Snape that no matter how much dislike he would have for the boy, he would protect him from the Dark Lord at all cost, and when it was time, let him go. Snape agreed, but didn't tell Dumbledore about the letter. That was something he would keep to himself forever.
