Chapter 1

This is my first fanfic so please go easy on me.

This is kind of a spin off story of Dynasty Warriors. It has nothing to do with the game's storyline. This is completely fictional.

I don't own Dynasty Warriors. This is just a fanfic. Enjoy!

Please review if you want me to continue

Zhou Yu shook his head as he listened to the never-ending blather of the strategists. "And that way, we can penetrate Wei's defenses," suggested one of them. "No, no, Sun Ce will never approve of it. The strategist sat back down dejectedly. "We need a flawless plan to finally conquer Wei's provinces. Call in Lu Xun," he gestured to them. A servant bowed and ran out of the gates. A while later, he came back with Lu Xun, who bowed and smiled, "you called for me Yu?" he asked. Zhou Yu nodded and gestured to Lu Xun to sit down. "Lu Xun; yours are the only hands I trust to put our men in this war against Cao Cao and Wei," said Zhou Yu. Lu Xun nodded and got up from his seat. "May I make a suggestion?" asked Lu Xun. "By all means," said Zhou Yu. " As Lu Xun explained his plan to Zhou Yu, the ruler Sun Ce was coming back from battle with Wei. Sun Quan and Sun Shang Xiang were behind him. The peasants and merchants of Jian Ye cheered for him as he rode on his horse smiling and greeting people. Sun Ce cleared his throat and everybody was silenced. "Today's victory is only one of the many to come. May we live in peace after the victory against Cao Cao and his forces," finished Sun Ce and he raised his fist in the air. The people cheered as Sun Ce galloped into his castle.

"How could you let this happen?" Cao Cao pounded his fist on the table and looked at Cao Pi, his son. "I am sorry I failed you, father," he said and bowed. Cao Cao kicked his son on his shin and Cao Pi backed away with tears in his eyes. "Useless; the first time I send you to battle and you fail me," he said ruthlessly. Cao Pi looked at the ground in shame. Cao Cao turned away from him and sat on his throne. "Lead another attack. Go straight to Jian Ye and leave none alive. I want Sun Ce's head," ordered Cao Cao. "Yes, Father," Cao Pi bowed and ran with the guards following him.

Zhou Yu was sleeping in his scarlet-colored bed. He kept shaking and turning until he finally jumped out of his bed, breathing heavily. Sweat dripped from his body. "Nightmare?" asked someone. Zhou Yu turned to see Lu Meng standing at the door. "Lu Meng, uh…" he stuttered. "It is fine to admit of having a bad dream. For we all have them," stated Lu Meng. Zhou Yu nodded, "I was only worried of the battles to come. Cao Cao's army isn't frail at all." Lu Meng nodded, "I have a feeling that a surprise attack will come upon us soon. We must be ready," suggested Lu Meng. Zhou Yu nodded and put his head on the pillow. He closed his eyes, "but we are not frail either." Lu Meng smiled and closed the door.
