He felt so alone, so…scared. She was gone and there as no way to bring her back. It had felt like it had happened yesterday, but in reality it had been a month. He threw himself into his work; it was his only purpose to live now. In his opinion anyway. No longer was there a warm body next to his when he woke up in the middle of the night. No one to drag him away from his work like she had.

It had taken him a year to notice her as a woman, not just as his friend, and when he had, he had been surprised. She had been amazing, so amazing to him. That was how they found him, passed out, on the verge of death in his lab. They rushed him to the infirmary and tried to bring him back. But he didn't want to come back, because he was with her, she beckoned him forward and he pulled her into his arms. A smile appeared n his dying body as the medical team tried all they could, but it was no use. Rodney McKay soon joined Elizabeth Weir in the darkness of death.
