Alison DiLaurentis, the queen bee of the Rosewood school mysteriously disappears during a sleepover with her best friends in the summer before 8th grade. The story then jumps to three years later, when her friends are living their own lives and not talk to each other. Aria Montgomery, one of the friends Alison, who moved after it has gone, back to Rosewood from a trip 3 years of Iceland with his family and back more sophisticated than when she left. She meets and kisses a guy in a bar in Rosewood, which is later revealed to be her English teacher, Ezra Fitz. Emily Fields, one of the friends of Alison who — besides being friendly — begins a friendship with the new girl in town, Maya, and soon develops some feelings for her. Hanna Marin is the new popular girl in town alongside the former nerd, Mona Vanderwaal. However, she and Mona sometimes steal the mall, but the two can always cover it up. Hanna battle to quit bulimia and maintain its status as popular. Spencer continues its long-standing rivalry with the older, perfect sister Melissa. Some problems occur when she feels attracted to Melissa's new boyfriend, Toby Cavanaugh, where he is introduced to the family. Throughout history, the girls receive threatening messages that reveal their secrets of the present and the past, including the terrible accident that they refer to as "The Jenna Thing". They believe that the messages are missing their friend, Alison, because she was the only one who knew about these secrets. But they were shocked when police found her body buried in the backyard of his former home. The book ends with the girls at Alison's funeral, receiving the text message: "I'm still here, bitches. And I know everything. -A".
A year ago our pretty liars — Hanna, Alison, Emily, Aria and Spencer — stopped receiving threatening messages from that which appointed A. But of course, that after the girls find out who it was A. Mona. Mona Vanderwaal. That they ignored for so many years. That it was the last suspect to be considered "the most innocent", "that would never commit a crime", but, as it would say, "A lie has no leg shorter. If I could fool them all this time, nobody can tell this".
Now you ask me, it all ended well?
So far. Cece Drake, an old friend of Alison, is returning to Rosewood. The same had been on vacation in Beacon Hills, and is now backing with some teenage suspects, said to be friends with Cece. But however it is unbelievable, Beacon Hills is stranger than Rosewood. Why, for God's sake, that city has legends about werewolves?
