Jade was always the healthy type but when she went outside in the rain she ended up getting sick. She was laying in bed when her brother walked in.
"Hey, Jade. How are you feeling?" Jade let out a moan that told that she was getting worse by the minute. "Alright. Well, I brought someone to take care of you while I head out with Rose." Jade looked up from her covers to find a tall, blonde-haired boy with sunglasses. Jade let out yet another groan and hid her face under her covers to hide the blush on her face.
"C'mon Harley. C'mon out," Dave said with a smirk on his face. Hearing the door slam behind him, Dave quickly turned to his left to notice John was gone. When he turned back around to face Jade, she had her head peeking out from the blanket. "Do you want anything? Like, water or something?" he asked genuinely. Jade's face began to turn even more red.
"Just water, please," she asked in a quiet tone.
"Water. Got it." He walked out the door and down the stairs to the kitchen. Get a grip, Strider! She needs you and you know that. He opened the fridge and poured a glass of water. When he opened the door to Jade's room, Jade looked up and gave small smile. Giving her the glass, he gave the small smile back.
Jade took little sips at a time. Setting the glass down on the nightstand next to her, Dave cleared his throat. "So. How did this happen, exactly?" Jade looked at him with big, round eyes. Dave looked down. "Never mind. Get some rest." He leaned over and kissed the top of her head which made Jade's face turn bright red. Dave leaned away and sat down on the couch that faced towards Jade. She rolled onto her side to face Dave. She smiled to him and he smiled back.
After twenty minutes of tossing and turning, she finally turned back to Dave. "I can't sleep." Dave looked at her through his sunglasses and got up and walked over to her bed. He climbed in and lay down beside her. "D-Dave. W-w-what are you doing?" Jade stuttered trying not to show that she was blushing like crazy. Dave began smoothing out her hair from her face.
"Making you comfortable so you could fall asleep," Dave whispered in a low and husky voice that made Jade shiver and get goose-bumps. But it was soothing. Jade fell asleep, cuddled up to Dave who was asleep too. A few hours later, John and Rose walked through the bedroom door to see Dave and Jade.
"Awww," Rose whispered to John. "That's so cute."
"Yeah, but we should let them sleep." John and Rose walked out of the door and closed the door.
