It was one of those extremely quiet days in the HQ. Skipper had given his team the day off after a long, hard week of maintenance. This silence irked Skipper to no end. The HQ was quiet most the time, but the thing that made the quiet unnerving this time was that he wasn't alone in the HQ, Kowalski was there too. He had wanted to work on some blueprints for upcoming projects or 'inventions' he was planning on doing this coming week. Rico had asked Private if he wanted to get snow cones and "kaboom" a couple things in the park. Private sanctioned it as long as they didn't blow up anything inhabited by another animal, or human if the case may be.
Skipper tried to make conversation with Kowalski, but his replies were either short and boring, or extremely long and confusing. Too caught up in his work really. Instead of trying to carry out the unsatisfying chit-chat, Skipper flipped on the CD player Rico had coughed up earlier for him. The CD was just a mix of songs, but Skipper only turned it on for background sound as he went through old mission files. Kowalski had gotten up to grab his abacus from his lab and on his way back to the table, a new song had come on. This song was nothing like the rock and pop songs that played before hand, as it had a slower beat to it.
Kowalski stopped mid-way back, smiling widely, "I love this song."
Skipper looked up rather quickly, "You know this song? I feel as if no one does!"
"Of course. On the Moon by Peter Cincotti. Lovely song to dance to really." Skipper had gotten up from the table and swayed over to Kowalski in the rhythm of the song. He looked up to his lieutenant as he stared back. Skipper never admitted it, but after all the years he and Kowalski were friends, all that they had been through, he had developed feelings for him. And he always loved staring into those cool blue, intelligent eyes.
He slightly averted his gaze and asked slightly afraid of the rejected request, "Kowalski, ma-may I have this dance?"
Kowalski blushed slightly and chuckled at this. "Certainly. So because you are so short, compared to me, does that make you the woman," he said playfully.
Skipper smirked with a comeback to this, "Considering my height, my flippers will be on your waist. That makes you the woman."
"What? I-Uh…." Kowalski wasn't exactly sure how to come back at that. "Fine…"
Skipper did as he said before and placed a flipper on Kowalski's waist, as the other still held his flipper. He never really noticed how curvy Kowalski really was. Considering the rest of them were on the pudgier side, of course tall, slim Kowalski was the curviest, but Skipper never knew to this extent. He didn't mind and enjoyed the slow sway they became accustomed to.
As the song progressed on, Kowalski began to let his weight fall into Skipper. He felt at peace, almost blissful as they spun. He didn't mind the fact anymore that he was dubbed the 'female' part in this dance and went with it. Skipper pulled him closer, looking once again into his eyes. "You know, this may seem a tad cliché, but this reminds me of any scene from movies that have a dance in it."
Now Kowalski came closer to Skipper as he spoke, "I agree with you. Although, there's one part of the cliché that's missing. This." He gave a sly grin before planting his beak on Skipper's who was shocked at first, but slowly melted into him.
After a moment, the two broke apart but kept their faces close. "You know, I'll have to ask you to slow dance with me more often Kowalski."
Kowalski blushed as he smiled, "I would like that."
._. Gah, so I'm sorry it's not that great. A Kipper -oneshot- to go with a request drawing I posted on Deviantart. Hopefully it's okay xD (It's really early here and typos were everywhere! I believe I spell checked them all out?)
