This story was done as a request for retro mania. He asked me to write a story that is based on So Weird's the Fountain. So here it is retro mania.

Spike trudged inside Sugar Cube Corner, normally everyone was supposed to be happy on Heart´s Warming, but not him. Pinkie saw him like this.
¨Hey Spike, what´s wrong?¨
¨Nothing.¨
Spike sat down on one of the new tables that Pinkie set up.
¨I´ll have the usual¨
Pinkie gave Spike his usual cupcake, a purple one with green frosting with crushed amethyst sprinkled on top.
¨You should turn that frown upside down!¨
Spike looked at her sarcastically.
¨It´s my parents, I never got to know them. And after Smolder claimed that he was my dad, I´m not going to take any chances!¨
¨Maybe I can tell you what I put in those cupcakes will take your parents off your mind.¨ Pinkie said.
¨Pinkie, you always put the same thing in your cupcakes; flour, sugar, eggs-
Pinkie interrupted him. ¨This time it was something different. When I was gathering ingredients last night, I saw a meteorite flying threw the sky, I followed it and it lead me to a nearby lake. It was glowing purple, so I decided to take it along with me.¨
¨Wait, is that glowing sprinkles on the cupcake?¨
¨Yes!¨
Spike was ready to throw up. But before he could do that, he vanished with a flash of light.
¨Well there´s something you don´t see everyday!¨
"Hey kid, get up."
Spike got up. His head was bandaged. Next to him was a Green Earth Pony with a Brown mane.
"What is this place?"
"Uh, this is my hotel room." The Earth Pony said. "I found you near the lava pits."
"Lava pits? I thought they hardened."
"Is your brain numb? They're still hot."
"Okay, what day is it?" Spike asked.
"It's Mid-October."
"What?!"
Spike ran to the calendar. The date was October 14, but the year was the one that surprised him the most. It was 10 years behind!
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The Earth Pony looked at him sarcastically.
"Finished?"
"I can't believe it! I was sent back in time. Ten Years ago!" Spike panicked.
"You're from the future?"
"Yes! I need to find Twilight! She can fix this-"
That's what hit him. Although Twilight was around ten years ago, she wouldn't have known him, or anyone else for the matter.
"Please sir, you got to help me!"
"What? I can't help you!"
"Well I'm stuck here! What if I never come back?"
"Alright kid, calm down. I'll help you. We need to think this logically."
While the pony was thinking, Spike saw a familiar object. He ran after it.
"Kid, wait!"
The pony ran after Spike. He blocked him.
"What's your name?"
"Spike! What about you?" Spike said.
"I'm Reed! I work as a doctor!" The earth pony said back. "Why are you running?"
"I saw my egg!"
"Your egg?" Reed said.
"My egg is purple with green spots."
"You know your egg?"
"You can tell the color of the dragon by what color the egg is."
Spike ran off. Reed followed him.
"What is this place?" Reed asked.
"This is the nesting ground. Eggs are kept here." Spike replied.
"Whoa, this is neat."
"It is."
"Hey pony! Watch where you're stepping!" A female dragon shouted.
"Okay, Alright."
"Aha! Here's my egg!"
Reed ran over to where Spike is. There in the middle of the nesting grounds was a small purple egg with green spots.
"Whoopee, I'm so excited." said Reed unenthusiastic.
"I never seen my egg like this."
Then, the egg started to hatch.
"It's hatching!"
Okay, does Spike have to be the narrator here? The egg hatched into a baby Spike.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so cute!" Spike gushed. "Who's a good baby, yes you are!"
A female dragon ran in.
"Everyone, pick up your eggs and run! They're here!"
"What?" Spike said, very confused.
"They must be from the Nightmare faithful!" Reed said.
"Luna? But she's-"
It hit Spike again. He was before Luna redeemed herself.
"Run! They're here!"
A female red dragon picked up baby Spike.
"That must be my mom!" Spike pointed.
"Well what are you waiting for? Follow her!" Reed shouted.
Reed and Spike ran after the dragon carrying baby Spike.
"What are the Nightmare faithful?" Spike shouted.
"They're the ones who follow Nightmare Moon! I thought they were banished along with her! But they're returning for raids!"
"Is this one of them?" Spike shouted.
"Yes! Keep running!" Reed shouted.
Just then a Nightmare faithful blasted his magic and shot the dragon carrying Spike in the back. But she continued on.
"No!" Spike screamed.
Reed, Spike, and Female dragon stopped in the forest to catch their breath. The female dragon slumped down weary.
"No, no, no, no. Don't die, Don't die." Spike worried.
"I can't...I'm so..." The female dragon said weakened.
"You can't die! You have a child to take care of." Spike said.
"Take him. To Celestia. Where she'll care for him. Please sir." The female dragon croaked.
"Wait, what's your name?" Reed asked.
"Pyra..." the female dragon said as her last words.
The female dragon slowly closed her eyes. Spike shook her.
"No, no, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
The next day...
Spike and Reed buried Pyra with an unmarked grave.
"Do you have anything to say?" Reed asked.
"No. I can't believe it, She's dead."
"At least she died protecting you." Reed countered.
"I guess so. What do we do now? We have a baby to take care of." Spike said.
" Let's take him to Celestia. Pyra wished to do this."
Spike and Reed took the baby to Canterlot.
"I was raised at Canterlot school for gifted unicorns."
"That's nice to here. I heard Celestia was also a teacher here too."
Spike and Reed left Baby Spike on the doorsteps and knocked on the door. Celestia, who was in the middle of a session, walked outside.
"Oh, my."
Celestia took the baby and walked inside. Reed and Spike, who were watching from bushes, watched her take care of the baby.
"All's well ends well I guess." Reed said.
Reed saw Spike crestfallen.
"What's wrong?"
"I never got to know my mother. And now she's-"
"She's in a better place, Spike. And you know that."
"You know, you're right."
A flash of white light shined behind them. Twilight and her friends showed up from behind.
"There you are! We were do worried!" Twilight said.
"This calls for a party!" Pinkie cheered.
"No!" Everyone yelled.
"Come on, let's go home." Twilight said.
"Wait." Spike said.
Spike hugged Reed in his leg. The latter was surprised.
"Oh, thanks. I guess." Reed said confused.
"Let's go."
A flash of white light ensured.
It was Heart's Warming, everyone was getting presents and giving them. Spike however, was not happy. It's been 2 days since he made it back. Although he got to see his parents, he din't get to know them.
"Spike?" Twilight asked.
"Yes?" Spike said.
"Someone's at the door. He wants to talk with you."
Spike ran downstairs. He saw a blue male dragon with a fedora and a coat.
"Hello, Spike. I am your father."
