He didn't know it could be like this.

This dark, strange…pleasure he could get from watching her. Everywhere.

"Father," he had said last Christmas. "I want a crystal ball in which I can watch someone." His father hadn't done anything, just pulled out a sack of Galleons and handed them to him. He had run out--no, sauntered with dignity--to his broom and flew to buy a crystal.

He sat there, now, in the library, staring at her. The unconscious sway of her hips, the giggle in her laugh, and how her brown eyes lit up whenever she smiled. The way she smirked when she insulted him, and the way she knew she had trumped one of her brother's friends at chess.

'That idiot,' he thought, clenching his fists. 'She's perfect, and she adores him. Why won't he have her?'

Still looking in the crystal ball, he didn't notice that she had left her Common Room and was now walking through the library. It didn't register that the person she was standing behind was him…he was totally engrossed in his crystal ball.

He saw her lift up her hand to tap him on the back. Simultaneously, he felt a small prod on his shoulder. He flinched.

She giggled. "So, have you been watching me?"

He whirled around, almost dropping the crystal ball. "N-n-o!"

She raised an eyebrow. 'A perfect eyebrow,' he thought.

"Really? And did you just stutter?" she smirked.

"I was not watching you," he denied, slipping his crystal ball into his bag.

"Right…" she said, not believing him.

"What's it to you, huh?" He sneered.

"Oh…nothing." She stepped forward until he was pressed against the wall. "Except this." She leaned toward him and kissed him on the lips. He stared straight ahead, eyes wide with shock.

"What did you just do?" he stammered.

"I just kissed you, Draco," she laughed. "Surely someone as smart as you could figure that one out."

"Oh," he smirked. "Okay." Reaching forward, he snaked his arm around her waist. "Guess what?"

"What?" she whispered.

"Ginny Weasley, will you be my girlfriend?" Draco Malfoy asked the redhead.

"Duh."
