Everyone had noticed Misako was a little down lately, and Sensei Garmadon had an idea why.
"Misako, dearest, what is the matter? You have not been yourself lately." His old brow curled up in concern.
"It's just…our boy…he's grown up so fast, Garmadon. I can't protect him like I used to anymore. He lost his childhood so he could save Ninjago. He's so young, Garmadon! He shouldn't have to bear the weight of the world. It's so unfair to him."
Garmadon sighed. "I know, my dear. Life is cruel to us, takes things from us we deserve to have. But Lloyd…he accepted the fact that losing his childhood was necessary in order to save multiple children from losing their childhood to a darker force."
"I know…I wish I could do something for him…to help him…" She buried herself into her husband's chest and cried for a few minutes.
Garmadon sighed. She was right. It wasn't fair to Lloyd.
But since when has life been fair?
Then, Lloyd ran up to the room the older couple was in.
"Mom! Dad! I just beat Kai at-"
He saw his mother in tears, and his bright, happy expression died down into concern.
"What's wrong?" He asked, walking over to his mother.
"I'm sorry Lloyd," Misako said, "I'm sorry you have to bear the weight of the world with the other five."
But Garmadon knew, that Lloyd knew, the green ninja wasn't alone in bearing the weight of the world.
And Lloyd accepted that. He knew he had a huge responsibility to take care of.
But he was still happy with his life.
And deep down, his parents knew that.
