Tom Harris was you're typical high school student. He went to Brookland School in Chelsea, London. His best mate was Alex Rider until Alex "mysteriously" got lots of illnesses. Tom then found out that Alex was.
"A spy? Come off it mate, you're joking." Tom laughed in the train to Venice.
Alex shussed him.
Tom doubted Alex's claim. But then again, why would Alex be hiding the results of his illness? and also, Why was he seen on top of the school when the science block burnt down? Tom now understood.
Alex dissapeared that night and a month later Alex ended up in hospital with a bullet in his chest. Tom finally believed him fully. After visiting him in the hospital he didn't see him until the end of November. This is what happened to Tom in between those times whilst Alex was on three missions (Code names SCORPIA, ARK ANGEL, SNAKEHEAD)
Alex was M16's only juvenile agent and he had not much to live up to. The previous year the FBI had employed a North Carolina teen, Azsmyth Jones, to help stop drug syndicates operating out of Miami. Azmyth had none of the skills Alex had, the only reason they hired him was because he could speak a little Spanish and as a result he was killed after 4 days undercover. Azmyth's body was sold to a Snakehead and all his organ's were illegaly sold. His body was found by Ben Daniels (Code name: Fox) in a Snakehead-owned house in Bangkok.
