Notes:Twisted Sister was on the other day and this scene popped into my head.
"What do you mean in Tim's book?" Ziva asked as they left Waverly's library.
"The book my brother wrote…Deep Six: The Continuing Adventures of L. ? Haven't you read it?"
"I knew he liked to write but I didn't know he'd actually finished a book. He mentioned that the liked to write…but I never thought he would." Tony added.
"Oh yeah, I can't believe he didn't tell you. After all the characters have to be based off of you. Tommy has to be based off of you….he's described almost exactly like you and Lisa is the same way Officer David."
"We are making a stop on the way back to the Navy Yard." Ziva stated, "We will need to buy a copy of McGee's book. It should not be too hard to find…I doubt McGee is a common last name for an author."
Sarah let a small smile slip onto her face. She knew that they were assuming that Tim had published the book under his real name—when in fact he hadn't. She'd wait until they got to the bookstore to say anything…it would be funny to see them search for Tim's name while the book was hiding only a few feet away under the name Gemcity.
It was ten minutes later that Tony was pulling into the parking lot of the nearest Borders. Sarah followed them inside. It took them five minutes to realize the book was not on the shelves. Sarah was trying not to laugh when someone who works passed by them.
"Excuse-me," she said, "Can I help you find something?"
"Why yes, Alyse, I do believe you can. We're looking for…Deep Six by-" Tony started
"You're in the completely wrong section. It's a few feet over—follow me, I'll show you." she turned the corner and walked into another portion of the Literature section. Tony and Ziva followed faithfully behind her while Sarah hung back for a moment to let out a giggle.
Alyse handed Tony a copy of the book. "Here you go. Deep Six: The Continuing Adventures of L.J. Tibbs by Thom E. Gemcity."
"Thank you." Tony said staring at Sarah. He waited until Alyse left before rounding on Sarah. "You didn't mention that the book was under a different name."
"You didn't ask." She replied.
"I get it!" Ziva exclaimed, "Thom E. Gemcity. It is an anagram of Timothy McGee."
Tony read over the cover as he was in line to pay for the book. Once they were in the car he handed it over to Ziva. There was one thing they agreed upon with a look…Timothy McGee was dead.
10 minutes later:
"Can't wait to read about your swashbuckling, socially repugnant Special Agent Tommy." Tony said.
You are going to die a slow and painful death, McDead Meat, Tony thought. I can't believe you would write a book about US and not ask our permission!
"And Lisa," Ziva said, "The sultry and emotionally distant Mossad Officer."
You will soon discover one of the 18 ways I can kill with a paperclip! I am not emotionally distant…I just don't believe in complication everything with feelings. But to so blatantly write about your co-workers…Hell may have no fury like a woman scorned but NCIS hath no fury like an angry Ziva David!
I'm so dead. Tim thought on their way down to the evidence garage to see Gibbs. But if I die…I'm taking Sarah down with me!
Hope you liked it!
