Houston the Sneak
Jackie was in the living room watching the kids playing with one another when she noticed Houston had wandered off. Jackie then heard a noise in the kitchen so she got up to investigate.
Houston had managed to get a package of cookies off of the cupboard and he now was frantically trying to open them.
"Houston, mommy said you can't have any cookies before dinner." Jackie told him.
Houston looked surprised to see her.
"Me know mama but me want one so go back in dere peas." The little boy said as he pointed in the living room.
Jackie bit her lip to keep from busting out laughing.
"You know you aren't suppose to have a cookie and so you want me to go back into the living room so I won't see you eat one?" Jackie asked.
"Yeah." Houston said as if that made perfect sense to him.
"Sorry little buddy, but no cookies before dinner." Jackie said holding firm as she took the pack of cookies from him and placed them back on the counter.
He frowned.
"After dinner you can have a cookie, I promise." She told him as she picked him up and carried him into the living room so she could keep an eye on him.
That night after the kids had been tucked into bed Jackie told Nick about what Houston had said earlier that day.
Nick burst out laughing.
"What a stinker." He said.
"Yes, but I have to admit he's smart." Jackie said with a grin.
"Oh yeah, no doubt about it." Nick agreed.
He loved his children so much, even if they were a handful at times!
